Well we should find out after Sundays race at Monza.

Rumour is strong that he had his hand forced by Ferrari as they need to confirm a second driver alongside Kimi, and his contract is due to run out.

I think he will go personally, and take the title with him.

Discuss.

According to ESPN, Schumi will announce his retirement after this weekend.

Theo Liasi said ferrari is due to announce matters on Sunday evening...can't wait!

yeah apparently he wanted to take more time with his decision but ferrari have told him it has to be monza. just think this could be his last grand prix in europe! i hope he goes out with the title as he is the best and i for one feel privelidged to have seen him live in action. he is the great champion of our era

^ True mate, I shall be watching him again for the last time at the China GP Oct 1st.

Schuey is a great driver, there is no doubt about that, but I think he did more bad for the sport than good. His repetitive winning over the years (not his fault in any way!) turned people away from F1, and his hard-earned reputation as a cheating git didn't improve the sports image much.

Schumiscareer

Strange, worked ok for me.

Back to Schumi, yes he has had some crappy moments but he is the best driver out there by a mile, and Im sure he will be missed.

See my predictions came true with Kimi

Great drive for Kubica, and being the first Pole to step on the podium esp after 3 races will go in the record books for sure.

I'm not a big follower of F1, but after today's result and the 2 point gap, I'll try to see the remainder of the season, as I would like Schumacher to retire as the champion.

Felt pretty sad today as he announced his retirement, was pretty sure it was coming but I had hoped he would stay another year then i could go watch him live just one more time....looks like he is still gonna have some involvment with ferrari.

He did have a few dark moments but all in all thanks for a lot of great memories Schu

Sorry to see the best driver in the World go. hope he retires World Champion. If it wasn't for all the controversy it probably wouldn't have been worth watching at all if it wasn't for him. I especially liked it when he lost his cool in the pits and marched down to have a word with Coulthard a friendship that never really went anywhere

Though respect to DC he does sometimes have a good word for Schuey. Kimi his replacement a bit of a Danni in the personality stakes but a damn good driver as is Danni a rider! The end of a great era for Ferrari, it remains to be seen if they can still do it without their golden boy!

I was very very impressed by Robert Kubica. Great driver in my opinion, he was doing really well in that race that Button won (Hungaroring?) until he had a mechanical failure or something.

I thought that the one announcing his retirement was Schumaker.
