I read some stuff about the limited 990cc bikes, it's a possibility. Kawasaki and Suzuki won't build 4 bikes. Ducati may or may not, but they are not happy about it.

It would be a bit like 2002 when the 500cc co-existed with the 990cc.

Give the poor teams like D`antin and Tech 3 2006 spec unrestricted bikes. With thier riders and budgets they couldn`t keep up anyway.

And about the article, I`m sick of complaining about the effect this 800cc crap will have on the allready excesively expensive sport. I`m just gonna say this: Dorna or the MSMA or whatever comittee is resposible for this is a bunch of fuckwits who`ll all but ruin this class by the time they`re done with it

Toby Moody wrote his usual recap of the latest grand prix, which was Turkey, for Crash.net, pretty good read all around. One bit I found entertaining was the rumor that Marlboro want Rossi onboard with Ducati in 2007. A crazy guess would be that they don't want any sponsorship clashes should he do some more work for Ferrari but I think that ship has sailed. I just think it's Ducati having another go at Rossi. Anyone who has read his book, do you think he's changed his opinion of the Bologna factory since 2003?

What was his opinion for those of us who can`t remember what we had for brekfast, Ooost?
Rossi to Ducati? God the Italians would never shut up... even if he didn`t win. I don`t know if he`d do it. I mean a bridgestone GP07 will probably be a lot different from a Michelin M1 or RCV, but Rossi has proved himself to be very adaptable, like 250 to 500, NSR to RCV, RCV to M1. Probably a lot harder to ride than his M1. I`m sure he could, but would he want to? Ducati would have to offer him more than Yamaha, who I suspect have a fat pay increase waiting for him allready just to keep him in motoGP for 07. So not only would Ducati have to beat his current price, but this new one too. Then they gotta be flexible and Rossi compatible like Yamaha had to be to get him from Honda. Bottom line is Ducati have a good team with two very skilled riders who both have GP wins under their belt and theyre building a bike to suit these two. Not to mention the fact that Ducati dont have a lot of money to throw around. I don`t think they can afford Rossi.

I'm sure Marlboro would throw a bunch more money into the project to get Rossi. I don't think it will happen though. In his book, Rossi said Ducati was very up tight and professional the way Honda was and that's one of the main reasons why he went to Yamaha.

Malboro could cover Rossi`s paycheque. But when you get Rossi you gotta put more money into the bike and team to satisfy him, too. And that`d be stretchin the budget. Besides, if he dosent wanna go there because of what you said bout his opinion of the, Ooost, then he won`t go. Rossi only ever does what Rossi wants.
