<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Dainese to auction Rossi’s leathers
News, 10/02/07
Valentino Rossi’s fans will have a unique opportunity to grab some very special memorabilia as Italian leathers manufacturer Dainese is to auction off one of 'the Doctor's' racing suits on Ebay.
The leathers to be auctioned were worn by the Gauloises Yamaha star during the German GP held at the Sachsenring back in July. It bears the marks of the crash Rossi suffered during the free practice session – one of just four crashes he has had this year - while the left knee-slider has been signed by the man himself.
The auction will begin on October 27, 2005 and closes seven days later. The proceeds from this online auction will go in their entirety to a scholarship for a motorcycle rider safety research project conducted in conjunction with the prestigious University of Padova.
The winner of the auction will be invited to pick up the suit from the new Dainese Showroom in Vicenza and will also be presented with an certificate of authenticity signed by the company's president, Lino Dainese.
I've scouted ebay, but they must not be listed yet..................wonder how much they will go for!?
Ben.
