Ducati and Valentino Rossi to run special new livery at Motegi.

For the first time in Valentino Rossi"s MotoGp career, his trademark neon Dayglow colors will be absent.

Ducati has responded to Rossi's request to change colors in commemoration of all those who have suffered as a result of the earthquake and tsunami.

We had a few moments with Rossi as he was preparing to make the trip overseas.

Vale, we heard rumors that you will be running a new livery in Japan, is this true

"Yes I thought it was important that we remember all those affected by the tragedy and I felt my usual livery would be upsetting to the Japanese people. I decided to have my Ducati paint all in black, the Japanese people are in mourning so I wanted my attire to reflect their mood. Many many people will look at the Dayglow yellow on my bike and think that I am making fun of those who are suffering from radiation poisoning. Neon is no longer a fashionable or humorous color in Japan. I would like to honor the Japanese people who have always been kind to me and always supplied me for years with the best bike in motogp.

That said, big respect for this decision, Hope others can do the same.



There are 2 special liverys allowed a year for each sponsored team right? so Stoner could go black for Motegi and later white for Phillip island. that would be nice.



Edit: Just remembered Repsol's ...... Delfin (the guy to blame) Livery at Aragon, so only one choice left.

Quite good though, participation in the forum is obviously quite down since there has been so little reaction.



Even apart from whether he would ride a black bike I don't think he would implicitly criticise ducati like this or refer to radiation poisoning.

Good find Johnny. Rossi, like God, has been sensitive to certain issues, and may I say, regrets as well; like smiting Sodom for example. Perhaps you could provide a link to that conversation.

It's a shame that the signing of Simoncelli coincided with this otherwise there would have been credibility poured on Valentino's alleged Gresini offer.

Considering you're about the only person who read that story I'd gladly post it.

This is a little story i wrote a few weeks back. I frequently have ideas running through my head that I do nothing about, so for once I decided to put it on paper and see how it worked out.

BTW (for our euro friends)Yogurtland is an immensely popular yogurt chain that has a line out the door no matter what time of day it

is and Tebow is a football player that is jokingly referred to as the 2nd coming of Jesus.
