Rossi to challenge Bayliss?..By Tony Carter / Eurosport

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (povol @ Dec 3 2008, 01:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Here is what would be awesome. An IROC event for the bike racing world.Take the top 4 finishers from every major series
Moto Gp
Gp 250's
WSBK
AMA
BSB and so on.Put them on identically prepared whatever's and have a race day.Give the riders 2 one hour test sessions and allow geometry changes only with the parts that came on the bike.Have a 30 minute qualifying session and 2 100k races.Compact that into a 5 hour pay per view event. What would you pay to see that.It would make millions on millions

Would certainly stimulate the two wheel world. Why not add the motocrossers, dirt trackers, ice racers and supermotard dudes as well?

Don't forget to add formula 1 stars while we're at it!
(I think somone mentioned Schumacher already)

Actually, I got an even better idea! Take all the stars from every motorsport and put them on a 4 stage competition:

round one: A race with same or similiar formula cars (Formula 3 or whatever)
round two: A race with same or similiar road racing bikes
round three: A race with same or similiar motocross bikes
round four: A race with same or similiar rally cars

Actually, you could add an endless amount of rounds with different kinds of classes

Oh yeah, I know this is WAY OVER possible, but would be funny.

I think this has more to do with keeping Dorna on its toes than any real challenge to Bayliss. And it seems somebody else thought the same thing, see quote below. Keeping Dorna's attention for the coming year is important, just look what it did last year when he threatened to hang up the boots.

Lex, do you have any comments or theories on the matter?

To have WC on multiple manufacturers in multiple championships would make him even harder to surpass in the future.
The rumor is that Vale would go over to MV Agusta. Now I think that it would be seriously stupid if that is the case cause that bike really sucks for racing. It looks pretty but it has never been proven as a real race contender. I would say that IF Rossi ever does go over to the SBK side of things we could see him on a Ducati finally. I would think that Yamaha would try like hell to keep him though since they are using valentino in a marketing campaign for the new R1. Now isn't that funny.

Or with his sense of tradition we could see him ending up on an Aprilia RSV4 in 2011.

As Rossi is contracted for the next two years and the R1's big bang engine as a clear reference to the M1, Yamahas campain would be a safe investment now.

I have a few hunches, but no theories.................................yet.

I think I will need to start looking into this matter more deeply though. So far the only reports are from relatively unreliable sources. However, this situation does fit my hunch that his tax problems are much more severe than the public realize, and he is out to find the highest bidder for his services and his fan base.

2 more years with Yamaha. After that, I believe he will use his fame to obtain ownership in a series.

i'd say pretty well....considering he's won the Suzuka 8 hour on one

yeah & didn't he outpace edwards fastest lap by like a second?! i think it's a foregone conclusion how rossi would run on a production sbk.

Someone should setup a charity event where the riders from Moto GP and WSBK mix it up on minimotos, that would be awesome. F1 driver Felipe Massa had a charity event with karts, I don't see why someone like Rossi shouldn't have one with minimotos.... I mean afterall it is for a good cause. Come to think about it has Rossi ever done anything for charity? I'm sure he has but a guy like him should do more instead of trying to fatten his own pockets and avoid taxes.

Please Lord, make an IQ test for Internet use.

Why say something so dumb if you could have easily checked correspondence to your premise?

I don't have any problem with it. This is what Obama says every morning when he wakes up. He's the leader-elect of the free world so SuperShinya has captured the Zeitgeist of our times

I just got the most disturbing cold chill I've had in a long time. How sub-human do you have to be, to use your power to assign people the task of existing to appease the angry masses? The only thing more despicable than indiscriminatant behavior towards other human-beings, is the way we go about "solving" the problem.

Seriously, think about it. Imagine a government official tells you your job is crucial to the prosperity of the nation and then they hand you a list of tasks you have to perform in order to make your fellow citizens happy. No compensation is given only a list of entitlements meant to keep you alive and healthy so you can continue to work. You cannot exist for any reason but to help support the state.

It's getting closer everyday.
