Rossi having a dig.........

Ok, he used to .... things up a lot, (...) and the other riders would be furious, especially Stoner and Lorenzo, because they were frightened of him.

Rossi having a dig.........

Assuming this is translated correctly, I'm stunned that he'd take this particular opportunity to do so.

It was Rossi himself who got caught up in Simo's umpteenth crash, running into him and breaking his neck.

I'd REALLY think that a small voice in VR's head must be saying, "...., those guys were right to be cautious."

I don't see that he's really having a dig. Stoner and Lorenzo's self preservationist views at the time were vocalised by themselves. That implies a bit of fear that one day Sic might hurt them.

English isn't Rossi's first language so it can be hard to know the nuances of what is being said.

Who really cares. Think long and hard enough and every sentence offends someone somehow.

I think Rossi is just telling it straight. Sic was a wild card, thats what made him who he was, and what made him so bloody exciting to watch.

You can take any line, or even part line, out of context and make it sound far worse than it was actually intended to be. I tend to ignore this kind of thing unless I see/hear the person saying it and what context it's supposed to be taken in. Besides, controversy sells books doesn't it? Even if it's what said is not real or accurately published or whatever.

He is certainly literally correct about what lorenzo and stoner said about simoncelli early last season, and the statements I would think are (clumsily) translated from Italian, not that there is anything wrong with them, as it does not sound at all like how he expresses himself in English.

Spot on, it doesn't read a thing like how Valentino speaks.

No mention of Pedrobot.........the only one of Jorge/Casey/Dani to be hurt by Sic.

Why single out Casey & Jorge?

Out of those three I remember Jlo as being the most out spoken about Super Sic, even his dad took a shot at him.

Sadly ....... had Sic taken notice of his fellow riders for a while ...... he would still be here .... perhaps.

After Sic's death I have to say that I am of the field that thinks "maybe they should have griped a bit more about Sic." ...... for his own sake even .....

Pedro complained about the incident which broke his collar bone (which was at worst 60% sic's fault imo), but not otherwise in the English language press as far as I recall, while stoner and jorge complained much more frequently; he did nearly lose it in the first corner in front of stoner on the first corner of the race after jerez which would have taken stoner out and required him to throttle back, and did cost jorge several places in another first corner incident, I think at le mans.

Conglobulating somewhat fuzzy memories accumulated over several years into one impression, mine is that Pedrosa was the one complaining the loudest, with the most venom. Jorge was worried, Dani was outright pissed off after getting knocked out for X number of races.

True, I probably remember it that way because maybe Jlo was the last and the incident with his dad. Oddly enough i remember Pedro getting hurt, isn't he always, and completely forgot how it happened.

Be interesting to know when Vale made the comment about Jorge & Casey.

Be more interesting to know why he picked those two for his comment.
