Roberts: Distinct Possibility We Won't Be Racing This Year

Yeah, I was just reading this. Unbelievable. It sucks. This change to 800 costs alot of money. I keep finding reasons not to like the change to 800s. Really, if Team Roberts is out, this would be a terrible hit to the series.

...... it, I wish an American company would pull their head out and put some money on the table for this American effort. But I'm not holding my breath.

KR team out? .... thats something i dont wanna see.

It's only a matter of time before a company such as Monster or Rockstar move into MotoGP in a big way. Hopkins has switched from Red Bull sponsorship to Monster and they are already the title sponsors of all AMA factory Kawasaki teams. I'm not saying one of these companies will be the saving grace for KR but I'm sure Monster would be interested in getting in deeper than Red Bull.

To see the roberts team out would be a HUGE shame. The project has just stepeed up and the results and performances have been so promising. It will be a sad day when King Kenny has no further involvement in gp racing.

This would be very sad indeed but deep down I don't think it'll come to team KR quitting. I have a feeling this is brinkmanship on Kenny's part. He knows how to play the sponsorship game.

Losing Roberts would be really crap for GP. Really dont want to see that.

oh no

the grid is empty compared to the other classes already, we cant lose another team, especially when they were so good last season.

damn the cost of motogp! they should find something though, shouldnt they? i hope they do.

I think this is hot air, designed to get someone to see responses like the above and therefore see the good that'll come of sponsoring Team Roberts. That said, if it works.....

A motogp season without the Roberts team won't be the same! Won't someone please sponsor them?! buries head in hands peeks out from in between the hands Has it worked?

i think it would be a catastrophy if team kr bail this season> but like skid & ir elude to i think this is kenny playin the game with a little shock therapy...... funny how kr say's 2 rounds in the us as of 08. like it's a done deal... hmmmmm.

We should get a Buell out there air cooled, pushods and everything...I got it maybe a allow them to bolt on a supercharger!

A blown air cooled 2000cc motor that thing would sound awesome! Still be slow but awesome

man, this would be a disaster for motogp, we need more manifacturers to come into the sport not be put off by teams pulling out, DAMN honda for pushing this 800 rule ,i new it would be the poorer teams who suffer.
ive said in another thread that i dont want a second gp in america but if it brings in sponsors for teams like KR then i will go with it.
damn this has pissed me off

loosing the King in Moto GP would be bad...

But IF worse comes to WORSE... King K can concentrate on bringing in more Americans into the series..He's got that Bonsey kid (U.S. flat track champ) set up in the 125cc on a KTM for 07.... Doing what Alberto Pig is doing by getting the kids at an early stage and in to the GP
(minus fking the young boys of course

)....

i guess if his team is out it doesn't mean that he will definately have no involvement in gp. Lets hope king Kenny sticks around for a while yet in some way or another.

i'm hoping you're right - it'll be a shame for Team KR to pull-out and besides it'll really piss on my fantasy league team

what is monster?

Monster is an energy drink. This year the brand will sponsor the Kawasaki AMA road racing teams. The fact that the brand, after years of Moto X sponsorship, is now dipping into road racing may be a positive indicator of future Moto GP signage.

As far as Kenny playing the sponsorship game goes, I have an example from sports car racing. From about 2002 to, say, 2004 Henri Pescarolo would tell the press that he "hoped" his team would run Le mans the next year. He needed to gather proper funding in order to run the race, and it seemed like every year his team was in danger of folding. Mr. Pescarolo usually gave his "desperate for funds" speech at the end of the race (or even a few hours before the finish). Henri has been able to find some good sponsors, including the likes of Playstation and Gran Turismo. Hopefully Kenny is doing the same and all will be well.
