To win the 3rd factory Ducati for 2017. To make it fair, Ducati told Redding and Petrucci whoever scores the most points from Brno through Valencia gets the seat. No bitching, no moaning, no posturing. Winner take all. Each rider can throw out one worst result. As it stands right now, Petrucci has a commanding lead. I like this approach and it will maybe finally make Redding put up or shut up.

MotoGP: Redding and Petrucci: 'Fight for the factory' | MotoGP 0

Petrucci 15 points
Redding 2 points

Sorry but I root for Petrux.

No need to apologise - you are entitled to your opinion. Petrucci is nobody's mug, but personally, I've little time for the guy after taking it to Rossi in the wet at Silverstone, he all but dismounted to let him by in the last race at Valencia. Plus, the move on Eugene was very, very ..... Crashing his Dad's spanking new moped on the way to the hairdressers hasn't exactly put him up in my estimations.

I think some riders can't help themselves in voicing their frustrations. I know that as much for his talent, Scott is renowned and respected for his motivation, application, hard work and positivity over the years in the paddock...but there is much that we are not privy to. Sometimes this spills over. Some riders are circumspect, a few vocalise their frustration whilst others acquit themselves poorly. I don't think that Scott falls into the latter category.

I don't know, I kind of like Redding for the fact that he does not tow the party line a little so in many way would rather Redding get the chance but it seems as though we are in the midst of a 2016 Mundialito for the true championship ............ a 'ride off' if you will

I think its a great motivation tool for the riders, let the best man win! Measuring them based on results from putting them in a challenge that emulates a watered and scaled down mini championship battle is the best way for them to work out pretty quickly who will bear the most fruit from the upgrades up for grabs.

With the winglets banned from next year I wonder how effective the Ducati's will be given they seem to use them the most heavily. Maybe they will put winglets on the riders instead, or settle on making the riders wear a cape along with their underwear outside their leathers.

I quite like Redding, must be difficult being a normal human being racing against borderline midgets though.

Just remember, Petrucci is the guy who gave us this.

Not worthy of any respect by a country mile.

If you're a fan of racing, you should be hoping Redding gets the GP17 next year.

I do too, im tired of Redding blowing gas about what he could do if he had this or that. They are on the same bike, let the best man win.

I get visions of this whenever I hear Redding mentioned
