BIKE racing fans could be left in a dilemma next summer after a remarkable oversight by MotoGP organisers saw them pencil in June 6 for the British round at Silverstone.
The date falls on Mad Sunday of TT week
and, if confirmed, will leave thousands of fans having to choose between two of the British Isles' premier motorcycle racing events.

Moreover, MotoGP qualifying is set for June 5, traditionally the day of the TT Superbike race and Sidecar race 1. Friday's Silverstone practices will also clash with final TT practice that evening.

just make sure what you got to pay if ur taking kids most circuits have concessions for kids think Donny was under 5's free

seen this posted.

I've just been on the phone trying to order 2010 Silverstone MotoGP tickets and I was told I would have to pay for a 3 year old as he can "walk and make use of the facilities".

My 18 month old however "should be ok to get in free" and "it has'nt been decided yet if they will have to pay for camping".

I couldnt believe my ears so got the wife to ring up and try, but she was told the same.

Don't think I will be going.

surely under 5's can get in free and not pay for camping etc.?

I think that it is quite funny that Silverstone is going to be on the same weekend as the Download festival (if you belive the rumours) which is held at Donny. A lot of the riders, in particular Rossi use to complain about that the festival as it left the track dirty and MotoGP were always in shortly after. Hm it is on my brother's birthday that weekend which means i will defo be going next year! Yay

I had this awful feeling that it was going to be the week before and i was going to miss it!

I always thought it was stupid that donny clashed with the Goodwood festival of speed but this is much much worse ,I think the Muppet who's responsible for this oversight should be named and shamed, then booted in the bollocks several times.

i'm up for it (pit boots on) what a fook up...now where's his bollocks .?....what if its a female fook up.oh well PMT

seems no one at dorna has ever seen or used a thing called a calendar.

it seems motogp clash's with just about any or everything.

MotoGP calendar reshuffle?

The 2010 British MotoGP at Silverstone could be moved from its provisional June 6 slot with a major re-shuffle of next season’s premier class calendar expected.

Finalising next year’s calendar has been something of a major headache for Dorna, with several key dates clashing with high profile Formula One events.

The French GP at Le Mans, scheduled for May 16, clashes with a new date for the Monaco F1 race. And with Monaco being one of the most popular F1 races, Dorna won’t go head-to-head in the TV ratings.

Another significant clash is Valentino Rossi’s home race at Misano, currently on the provisional calendar for September 12.

But that is the same day as the Monza F1 race in Italy.

Subsequent changes are not expected to be confirmed until after this weekend’s Valencia GP in Spain, but are believed to impact on Silverstone’s June 6 slot.

Silverstone not only clashes with the Isle of Man TT, but the prospect of Formula One returning to the Northamptonshire following the collapse of Donington Park’s ambitious F1 plan might also force a date change.

There was speculation that Silverstone could switch dates with the American MotoGP in Laguna Seca on July 25, but nothing has been confirmed.

The 2010 football World Cup in South Africa has also added to the dilemma, with F1 and MotoGP reluctant to clash with major games.

The draw for the World Cup doesn’t take place in Cape Town until December 4.

When exactly is English Summer? I can never tell. I've been to outdoor concerts
in London when it was cool enough to wear a long-sleeve jersey and a leather jacket, and
British kids were being carried to the medical tent as a result of heat-stroke.

New date for Silverstone MotoGP
Silverstone
Silverstone could host a MotoGP and Formula 1 race in 2010

The 2010 British MotoGP at Silverstone has been put back two weeks and will now be staged on Sunday, 20 June.

Several other changes have been made to the provisional calendar, affecting the dates of the races in France, Italy, Czech Republic and San Marino.

Silverstone is replacing Donington Park as the venue for the British MotoGP.

The Northamptonshire track is also in line to host a Formula 1 race in 2010, with talks ongoing about plans to stage the British Grand Prix.

The MotoGP season is due to start in Qatar on 11 April and end in Valencia on 7 November.

606: DEBATE
I doubt the riders will be pleased with it with three races in a row, twice in the season

Bald-Ninja

And there may still be more changes made to the calendar after the draw for the 2010 football World Cup in South Africa takes place in Cape Town on 4 December.

Argh i am so annoyed at them for changing Silverstone! I can only go on Friday and Sunday now as i am going to a gig on the Saturday and it is too far to drive there and back in time. It also means i can't camp or stay over so i will be driving both days so no drinking. Argh so annoying! Okay rant over
