Since the testing ban has been lifted, how come we haven't heard of any factory teams doing private tests? I mean, they lost a day because of Estoril being washed out the monday after the races. Shouldn't they (specifically the Ducs) do some tests since they had new bits/pieces to try out...?

Well I have... maybe you need to listen harder

A question I have. what are those grill things on the exit of ducati exhausts. I think they look sweet but are they functional?

Could be flame arresters mate, like on the top of a bottle of Bacardi 151. That's my guess.

Stone catchers. Prevents bits and pieces going into the exhausts in a crash, and damaging valve gear, which would cost them an engine. A result of the durability rules.

Didn't they actually have them on before the rule came in, cos Casey dropped it into the gravel at ????? Catalunya ??? and it slowly ate itself when he tried to complete the race.

??? I thought they had them on more out of necessity from experience ???

I'l keep an eye out and see when they came in ......

Perhaps. Preziosi told me that they had been forced on them by the reliability rules, back in 2009. But they are sensible anyway...

I think stoner also could have re-started in one of those 2 races immediately following LS08 where he put the bike down, but for a stone exactly the right size.
