Hey all,

My wife and I are planning to catch the 2006 GP in Phillip Island. I already plan on getting the "VIP Village" seats if I can get them before they sell out. I want/NEED to know how do you get pit/paddock passes??? I really want to hang out with the riders and meet some (hopefully Rossi and Doohan among anyone else I can recognize)

Hey Bud, Where do you live?? We did the VIP Pit roof this year and it was great!! You get a pit walk per day, but this does not include paddock passes, i ended up geting in cause a chick i know had paddock passes, its great down there, met everyone, i know she got them from the net somewhere!! They are hard to come by but i will see if i can find out where you get them.

go to the official site. motogp.com. click on the vip village icon. that should square you up!... oh ya by the way

thanks I will have to look around there.

We would be flying over from Calgary, Canada. Making a whole vacation and checking out Melbourne, Sydney, and maybe Caines.

I just really want to see a GP race before Rossi retires so I am depserate to get a Pit pass....I am blowing all this money to get there already so what's a bit more...

VIP Village passes aren't the issue, I found them for sale on Phillip Island's page. However the pit pass they have is a scheduled walk thru and nothing more. From what I understand, and noted above from Katherine...there are also paddock passes which I would love to get...
so are they something special and separate, or are/were they included

I don't know how crowded it gets in OZ, but if you want to be in the paddock and meet the riders maybe you should try to go to places were no one cares about MotoGP or who is Rossi, places like Turkey, China or Malaysia. Probably there it's easier to get access to the paddock.

Yesterday I rang the GP people in Melbourne, the chick tells me that you can not buy paddock passes

She says you can only get em if you are a team member etc!!

I have an idea bikecrasher become an Umbrella ...., that get you one

Another idea is to go to one of those Riders for Health days (or something like that).

In some GPs (eg Valencia) on Thursday before the racing begins this association organises events (auctions, autograph sessions etc ..) so there are not too many people around the riders and you can get to talk to them or even bid for one of their items (boots, helmets, gloves etc...)

Qatar looks the best for that no one turns up there. Looks to be TV GP that one
