A rider running wide in turn, leaving the door open and the rider behind goes for it. This is a common situation in racing. You really cannot expect the rider behind to slow down and wait for rider who ran wide to come back and assume lead. Yet, in case these two clash stewards step in and usually penalize the rider inside. Makes no sense
for me. Penalized for what, racing?
This time in Moto2 they clashed and the rider inside crashed out, nobody was penalized. I'd say it was worth a penalty, returning to the racing line without making sure it was safe to do so. None of these crashes would happen if the rider who runs wide was under obligation to ensure the safety. In addition, the rider inside is hanging on the side
of bike and cannot even see the other bike.
I don't think the rule of rider being ahead has the right should be applied here. Measuring who was 2 cm ahead to decide who's fault it was is not constructive in turns, it may make sense on straights.
But then again, MotoGP stewards are well known for their unfair and nonsense rulings. This is what you get if you give someone the power of god. It corrupts instantly.
