Pedrosa's mentality

Congrats to Pedrosa after 2 wins this season.
Anyway, when he won, usually he was getting away from the start.
In the Catalunya qualification,I remember the commentator said something like this :..."The slightest problem with Dani Pedrosa, that he can ride with the fastest man,but when it comes to really scrapping it out with Rossi and Stoner,he can't quite do it..."
I guess he has to fix his mentality. When he gets away, that (almost) means goodbye. But when he's in the wax,it looks like he looses his head.
If he has more balls, than he'll be a very very serious contender this season. Rossi can't afford to start from back of the grid again.
What about you guys ?

No secret regarding Pedrosas ability to fight it out. He's still not stong enough on the brakes and not by far determined enough when going in for a pass on the inside. He will need to improve on those parts or get himself an air-powered bike he can fly away with every time.

Rossi can certainly afford more 3rd row finishes. Catalynia have a rather simple layout with fast flowing, long curves, and dispite it's with it doesnt carry many alternative lines. That made the job today particulary difficult, and I for onr never shared others optimizm after yesterdays quali.

watching the race today with hindsight i would agree, the main passing place seemed to be the chicane after the straight. i loved the move rossi pulled on hayden there.

Rossi says he's like a computer when he gets away at the front, not making any mistakes.

My favorite were no doubt his first pass at Stoner: In the tight downhill lefthander on the backside where he went wide at every attempt last year and couldn't make it stick. He blamed his michelins that had no grip on the left side and he proved himself right by making it stick on the first attempt this year. That gotta hurt Stoner

i also had faith that his decision to switch rubber was the right one despite what jb said at the time. do you think he has proved the doubters and nay sayers wrong yet ?

I was a doubter myself, or I would have liked his desition to be to stay with Michelin as I expected them to improve, but I "gave him the benefit of doubt" as I can see no one better positioned to take that desiotion. As of today I don't think the change would has made much of an impact on the championship, but it may turn out to be just what the doctor orderd if Pedrosa continue to stay up there. A rain race or blazing hot Laguna could make a big impact on the championship so to me it looks like the right desition. A few lost points at quatar was the downside but the potential upside is bigger.

The naysayers? For them it's only fuel to the two fires:
- Rossi get preferential treatment by Dorna
- Bridgestone design special tires for Rossi
Trying to convince them otherwise is probably just as much waste of time as it allways has been.
