Normal for Yamaha to prefer Rossi

A good article imo. I think Lorenzo is getting smarter at explaining himself to the press which is good to see. Would be interesting to see Rossi get asked the same questions.

Not surprised, and as a George fan, not butt hurt about it.

If I owned a team, I would want the guy with the largest fan base and would make me the most money to win every year as well. Good business. All about the Benjamin's .

And considering what Kropo was saying about the massive appeal for Yamaha to keep Rossi to help sell scooters in SE Asia; or to me more importantly for Dorna to keep Rossi to sell GP in Indonesia...

Yes, Lorenzo. He is a wonderful rider but... His personality isn't..something for me

We met Jorge just before Xmas at the official fan club dinner, and i cannot resist saying he is really nice, he spent time with all his fans young and old,and after the meal stayed for the after party, which was so cool, he signed all my shirts for me , and i even gave him a hug , so i am defensive with Jorge as hes lovely, :)

JL thought normal Yamaha prefer Rossi. mean while lin jarvis priorities was renewing JL contract.

hmmm I'm missing something

I remember watching a video of Lorenzo with children in India, you could see he was really touched by the opportunity to be with them, and seemed really emotional by it.

I think JL in spite of his social shortcomings which are understandable since he had no real childhood, is a genuinely good guy overall, and quite honest in what he says. His comments in the post-race presser at Sepang were stunning for their frankness, and much needed. Too bad the media had no interest in doing anything but carrying water for VR.

But you know how it goes in GP with honest guys...just ask Casey Stoner.

Exactly... As long as Yamaha has someone competing for the champ, (LJ or Rossi), they will let Rossi ride around and sell bikes.

That's what I always admired about Dale Earnhardt''s widow. She inherited his race team and told JR he needed to make a decision if he wanted to be at t shirt salesman or a race car driver. Of course he told her to .... off and left with the t shirt truck. and she eventually sold the team off, but I stil admired her stance. To this day he is still a t shirt salesmen making money hand over fist as the highest paid and most popular driver in the series even though he has never won a title. It is all about the Benjamin's .

At the end of the day, no matter how us fools root for it, cheer for it, follow it, obsess over it, cuss about it, FIGHT OVER IT, dream about it, glorify it, idolize it, jerk off to it (probably only me), it is all about selling units to the consumer.

But damn do I love their product!!!

It was always a shame since Jr. was the complete antithesis of Sr...they may share the same name, but the old man wanted to win, Jr just cares about brand awareness. Yeah it makes a lot of money, but he's not a racer like his old man was.

Good guy and from everything you hear, as loyal a friend as you could ever ask for, but that need to win was never there like daddy had. Of course growing up Having to win to eat and feed your family will instill different attitudes in a man.
