So people are going to think bad things will happen to me?

Am I misinterpreting it?

He certainly promotes the sport well.
Would be nice to see all those fans there in September.
But realistically I bet they would be happy with half that attendance.

Typical.
Nicky using the no. 1 plate sends out a message to the non motorcycle racing fans in the audience (most of the people there) that he's the reigning world champion. How surprisingly American.

Honda sent the bike in a crate and they slapped it together then and there. Nicky had no say or choice in what bike or number he got. Talk to Honda.

Would you like him to ride the '08 212? You know that would be against the rules, right?

Welcome fellow American.

Gee, do you actually follow the sport?

Current permanent championship participants are not allowed to test on a track pre-championship event. In other words, Nicky is not allowed to ride his 2008 bike at Indy before Friday 12 September 2008. Difficult rule to grasp I guess...

Also teams do their demonstrations on last year's bike. And Nicky's 2007 bike just happened to carry the no. 1 plate.

And everyone knows that vinyl is SO hard to remove.

Good point and a serendipitous one for Honda and Nicky.
I will admit to not following the racing much lately. How's Wayne Gardner doing this year Sal?

How surprisingly (not) ignorant.

You hit the nail on the head (karma), so be careful when you get on your Nicky Replica C90!

Can you confirm that the rule allows "testing" provided the machinary is not the newest available? I would think that demonstration appearances do not count as testing, as HRC spent a lot of the winter testing the 07 bike and its data is probably still useful to them.

you know i don't think a couple of demonstation laps counts as testing. but it does go a hell of a long way in the PR department.

Wow, that was horrible. Somehow I had it in my mind that he did a few laps on the street track or at least took a few turns at speed. Oh well, I huess Honda/HRC probably had some pretty tight reins on him. I bet he wanted to get out there and blast a few laps at least. That was not a good promo.
