Kenny Roberts Jr could become a regular frontrunner for the remainder of the season after Team KR confirmed that a new chassis will be introduced at this weekend's British GP. The Honda-powered prototype has featured at the sharp end of the last three races in Assen, Catalunya and Mugello.

Since conversing with Honda after the Chinese Grand Prix, during which the Japanese manufacturer provided important date regarding the functionality of the V5 engine, Team KR have taken a sudden leap forward in performance thanks not only to different mappings, but also with the set-up of their chassis.

The data accumulated since the start of the season plus that of Honda will now be incorporated into a new chassis that the Banbury-based team will debut at Donington this weekend.

Good news for Junior, but King Kenny is getting dangerously close to the Japanese Titans he set out to beat all those years ago....

It's all good things, as they get closer and closer with their chassis the results will get better and better. When the results come, so will a title sponsor and the much rumored second rider for the squad.

Yeah...KRJR is looking better and better. It's great to see.
I felt so bad how a former champion just can't get a good bike under him.

My piont is, why not just switch to an RCV, he might as well now. Only reason to keep his bike is to have a different chassis to the Honda boys. But does that really help him?

I think it's the principle of the thing. The fact that he isn't a Honda team, they have no input in his works. They give him the parts and let the KR boys build it and do what they wish with it. If it were a true Honda team then HRC would have some say in riders, sponsors and things like that. That's exactly what he wanted to get away from after his Marlboro Roberts Yamaha days.

So it's not really about beating the Japanese, it`s about having things his own way. (Typical, old KRSR dosen`t want to be anybody`s .....- I love that guy

It all makes perfect sense, doesn't it? I'm sure results are atop his priorities but I'm sure a close second is the pride of his operation and being able to do things his way.

Yeah, that`s what`s probably going on in the King`s head.

Looks like everything gonig well for Kenny.Love to see him get another podium and i wont be suprised if he gets one soon.

He`ll get close I think, but he might need some rain to get all the way to the box. Either way the team is doing a lot better than it did last year.
