with a price to match!.....and is uses a Hardley Davidson engine!

^yeah i agree looks like a 999. is that the engine they use in the v-rod if so it was built by porsche. 40k oh dear

Actually the V rod engine is very good it's just too heavy.
Why can't Harley start re making the VR1000 sportbike that went well eventually.

no it did'nt. it was a piece of junk. c'mon neil
<

Didn't it score a few podiums before it was retired?
I should have asked when I was at the factory but had other things on my mind.

Its obviously a waste of money for people who have to buy all american. There is no way in hell that bike will out perform the competition, certainly not for the price. Harley arn't good eough to make sports bikes and as good as that engine may be it is still going to be inferior to a japanease or italian engine design for this kind of performance from te ground up

good to hear it!

V-rod engined sportbike?
<
Dont sportbike engines need to be durable? I just can't see H-D making something that doesnt fall apart. They havent so far, why break with tradition?
<

It looks like someone just took some track body work that fit a 996 added a MV F4 nose fairing to it and called it a new bike.

While the motor might say H-D on the side it was designed by Porsche (it’s a little secret Harley doesn’t mention) Harley has no idea how to build a motor without pushrods

“with engine kits producing up to 180hp.” That’s just laughable

Not sure anyone is going to be buying one of these for $40K - that’s 2 Ducati 1098s with tons of goodies

The same could be said about Ducatis, Doc

It's not all that bad I think. Sure its not gonna be the highest horspower lightest superbike-with-lights that you'll get from the big four, but it won't be a slug either. It looks a lot more promising than that fischer POS from the states. Sure, the engine is heavy, but so it the Guzzi transverse V twin, but they put it in the Corsa concept bike (90kg of engine in 200kg of bike if memory serves.) That bike, which also looked a lot like a Ducati recived a lot of praise and "want one" comments. There's obviously a lot in a name...

...Sticking up for Harleys, i've been out of it for too long

It's got all the kit:
Front suspension Ohlins 43mm fully adjustable upside-down fork with TiN

Rear suspension Ohlins fully adjustable linkless monoshock

Front Brakes 2 x 330mm semi-floating discs, radially mounted Brembo monobloc

4 piston calipers. (Production version)

Rear brake 245mm single disc, with 2 piston Brembo caliper

Frt. Wheel/tire 3.5 x 17 forged aluminum 10 spoke Marchesini, 120/70 ZR17 tire

(Production version)

Rear wheel/tire 6.0 x 17 forged aluminum 10 spoke Marchesini, 190/55 ZR17 tire

(Production version)

But so has a Ducati so I can't see the reason for buying one over a Duke unless you idiotically patriotic.
