As the company CVC.. whuch owns dorna, wants to buy the rights to formula one, they have been given the ok aslong as they sell off Dorna.

What does this mean for motogp... good or bad news.

anybody with more info.... help lol

Thats ........
<

They're only doing that cuz F1 is too boring and they're afraid GP will become too popular

I think it could spell trouble or it could improve things. Dorna has done a terrific job promoting the series and it has never been bigger. The new owner might have trouble following in those footsteps but it shouldn't have that huge of an impact. At the same time they may implement some more cost cutting rules to keep private teams in the series and attract more sponsors. If there is one thing Dorna did not do it was cut costs.

It shouldnt change anything. It's an EU monopolies ruling to avoid one single business controlling MotoGP AND F1. Dorna I would imagine have a 5-10 year plan for the sport which essentially won't change. Even if the chief personnel change at Dorna ( if that's what they continue to call it ) which is by no means inevitable 'if it ain't broke they ain't gonna fix it' . The sport has grown globally, the only changes I can see at all might be a more international flavour, ie. less spanish riders which would be a good thing.

who ever keeps control of it should scrap that ..... 800cc rule,. what a load of complete an utter ballacks

That's not gonna happen, too late, the 800cc engines are already on the dyno.

About making the sport more "international" there are already plans going on, like the MotoGP academy.

MotoGP Academy??
<
What's that? "Make the sport more intrenational by puttin MORE europeans on 125s?"
<
They should be focusing on bike markets, I think. A few Chinese riders in 125/250 would help boost popularity at Shanghai, methinks.

And If they sell Dona off, but Dorna stays intact, running the GP with the same people and budget, but just for new masters, I can't see it changing too much
