I have the package that allows live video, so I have woken at all hours of the night and morning to watch this live.
The last two races I haven't been able to watch the entire race, and squint my eyes to wach the replay of the race fing 5 hours later.

Has this happend to anyone else?

no not me. sometimes the feed ..... up a bit. it freezes on me & i only get stills & sound so i just switch my media player from windows to real player or viceversa. but this does'nt always happen.

Yeah, what's up with that. A lap after Rossi fell the website started acting up...so I had to go to eurosport and read lap by lap commentary. I guess I didn't miss much because there was no real battle between Vale and Nicky. Congrats to Nicky for winning the championship.

I share your pain.

Here in Japan they show MotoGP on cable TV. Even though it's cable the races are usually shown on delay (once or twice by over 24 hours). Why the delay I don't know... maybe delayed TV rights are cheaper or something--or maybe it's a burning passion for the cable TV audience to watch endless crap infomercials or hours and hours of crap WWF-style wrestling...

Anyway, halfway through the year I got fed up with the delays and bought the live video package on the MotoGP site. At first it was great, but Motegi and Estoril were terrible--the video was dropping out so much it was unwatchable.

Luckily for me Motegi and Estoril (and Valenica today) were broadcast live on cable for some reason, so I could just turn on the TV

I'm guessing the site can't keep up with the demand, or maybe it depends which server you get connected to. It's worse during the MotoGP races, and not as bad with the smaller classes. I hope they get some more bandwidth next year, because it's great to watch the live feed in one window, and have another with the live timing.

Yes! I've had this problem for 4 years of subscribing to the premium package. In the 4 years I've been waking at ungodly hours I've probably only seen 5 total races without problems. I sent motogp.com numerous complaints and only recieved a couple uneducated replies that accomplished nothing. I hate that they are the only place to watch live coverage. I understand that they are taking on a large task at doing this, but 4 years and still a terrible track record? Please. What really bites is there is not anyone to hold them accountable for services provided. This is borderline fraud. I saw 3 laps after Rossi fell and almost put the mouse through the monitor. Good luck to all and what an awesome season.

Ive had it freezing and spluttering on me too, and I have a good speed...

I think they need to sort out their technical issues before they start losing their customers.

In future I will go with Jello TV ( see my thread ) or TVU player as they seem to work ok, or pop to a bar that is showing it.

I can watch the races live on tv most of the time, but I've had this problem too as I sometimes keep the live feed on to listen to the english commentary. I have a great connection and I don't have a problem when re-watching old races. It's just the live feed that's screwed up. I find it 'helps' to switch to the low quality option. I think it's a traffic problem. I thought of complaining, but since you say it's useless then maybe it's not worth the hassle. Maybe we should all club up and sent them a collective nasty email?! They shouldn't be selling more memberships than they can handle.

Yeah, I had the problem. I only had the problem through the last 2 races though. I watched all the practices, qualifying, and races all season and only had those 2 problems. But those problems occurred during the best two races of the year.

Hey, thanks guys for warning me!! I'd thought about this coverage, it's obviously even worse than what we get on Oz TV which is delayed a few hours at midnight but showing almost all the races. Not that I really wanted to see almost no one do anything in this less-than-interesting final!

u guys have to admit that the alternative, speed tv here, is much worse. nothing but adds & plugs for their nascrap ......... i've subscribed for the last 5 years & even tho their feed ..... up at times it's still far superior. but it is definatly frustrating when it craps out at the worst possible time. like it did to me at estoril. i missed the last 2 laps so i had to watch the end of the race recorded. oh well. they've gotten better over the years tho.

A solution to the problem is to use real player and open it in full theater mode... hook it up on to the TV and it is a grand experience. I watched it live without disruption.. the feed may buffer once in a while but the crash is due to the homepage being crashed
