I thought Cortese's post race comment was hilarious!! 'I left him enough room... to come second' Brilliant. The only thing I could see that Vinales could even be remotely upset about was Corteses weaving on the run to the line. I know he was trying to break the tow and that is quite common, but if you look at the replay in slow motion, he comes very aggressively into Maverick's path, causing Vinales to sit up slightly and hesitate. Considering the race was won by less than a tenth it could have been significant, not to mention pretty scary at speed. Lets not forget what happened to Barbera at Mugello all that time ago, Simoncelli was given a warning for that.

Not that I am complaining, i thought Cortese road brilliantly and deserved the win, Vinales shouldn't have been bratty on the cool down lap.

Good take Tom. Vinales did a similar "weaving" move on Cortese , which I mention on my post, the only sketchy move in my opnion.

Btw, I must have missed the "bratty" part, what happened?

he tried to run cortese off in the first turn after the flag and punched his shoulder/bike.a bit like what you'd expect if stoner had roid rage

really enjoyed seeing cortese so happy and vinales so pissed off after that

I was a little pissed off that the commentators didn't note the weaving that you mention here because I saw it too and thought that it was unnecessary - maybe not down-right dangerous, but a little unsporting cos it's a wide straight and he weaved towards Vinales - not away from him so I'm not convinced about the breaking the tow theory especially as Vinales was coming across from the outside of the straight and Cortese from the inside.

Without the backmarkers it's hard to say what the outcome of the race would have been but it doesn't really matter, at the end of the season the wins are what count - no-one goes back and counts the races that might have swung the other way.

You are also right about Vinales' reaction post-race - Stoner got a 5000 euro fine for similar behavior at Le Mans last season.

Hellva finish, I finaly got to watch it yesterday. Many opinions about the swerve, no one went down and I'm sure if the shoe had been on the other foot Vinales would have done something similiar.

Can somone tell me what happened to Kent and Fenati and how they fell back so quickly, then was it Rossi that knocked Fenati down? TV coverage for this race wasn't the best.

Been trying to find out the same L8,

to no avail I'm afraid.
