Most beautiful 500GP bike ever?

Loved that bike ,Mick.John Britten never had enough exposure to push his innovations, which is a shame.Theres a really good article on his ideas /improvements at this site..www.mad-ducati.com.I only flash read it but its very detailed,Mick.

Nice quote from that article:

You can imagine the trepidation of a rider stepping aboard the Britten, and that trepidation was enhanced by the initial lack of traction information coming from the tires.

Sounds vaguely familiar, yes?

Yes, but i contend, that may be because of the 'feedback' interpretation riders have grown up understanding. I believe that the Britten was ahead of its time. Its obvious that Stoner was unique in being able to exploit the Ducati as a weapon, perhaps because unlike others, he found some way to interpret its strange feedback (why i think he's the only "alien"). Afterall, its just physics. There are various solutions to a problem, Britten saw those solutions differently. Something of a high order genius. Who is to say his solutions were not better, but the riders were still interpreting 'feeback' from yesterdays conventions? The twinspar may simply be a solution that rider are familiar with, not necessarily a superior solution. Who knows, its just my personal reflection.

Im sorry but the Britton is ....... ugly

Jumkie i see where you are coming from and i agree to an extent, but a solution that is superior in theory is often not superior in reality because of the human element. Although i agree that riders grow up with a certain expectation of what to feel from a bike, so they are naturally conservative because anything else feels 'wrong'. The real genius will be the person who can design a chassis which 'feels' right but opens up the technical side to much accelerated development and therefore a faster motorcycle.

But then how much of that is realistically possible in a race series with control tyres designed around the current chassis solutions? Ask Ducati

Stop posting photos of toys guys, lets get real pictures if possible!!

Marlboro yams from the 80's rule btw, Curve is winning so far with that awesome Lawson shot.

I think some peeps are putting up pics in favor of the rider as oppose to the beauty of the machine. For me the Cagiva and the Lucky Strike were very cool looking bikes, but the Cagiva just says 'fast' on it.

Btw, that fruity ... bike with flowers on it is .... That's what I liked about the Cagiva. No feel good frills on the livery, just red hot red. Its like the anti-livery, like a .... you.
