Mamola - at it again

Hoppers told Mamola that he was concerned that Dani, injured and in front of him on the grid, would make him lose positions at the first corner
<
. Mamola gave SO MUCH credit to this particular comment
<
that I wondered which race he was commenting about.

Then he spent the race driving the attention to the second pack, as usual, to the point of ignoring Pedrosa closing the gap on Rossi and momentarily overtaking him
<
.

Is Mamola truly ........? Even the Victorian Lady, Toby Moody, had to jump in to actually comment the race at the front, the nth time at the nth race, while Julian Ryder didn't manage to cover the microphone enough to hide his laughter.

Before the race, Pedrosa's team didn't think he'd finish the race and Randy is 'on the inside' as far as that info goes. Nobody in the paddock really knew how he'd get on so I can forgive Randy and Hopper for that one.

I don't think 'Is Mamola truly ........?' is such a sensible question to ask, if you really think so you should get yourself checked out. That guy has forgotten more about GP racing than most people on this forum will ever know. There's more to a race than the two guys in front. Eurosport got it completely right with their commentary trio or maybe you'd prefer Steve Parrish.

Indeed he has. But the problem is that Mamola is embarrisingly stupid, I'm afraid. Always been (the only guy in the history of the circus capable of crashing while wheeling at qualis, warm-ups and races), always will.

What is hard to understand is why they still keep him.

Man was I laughing at that commentary. Have to say randy got this info he dani's team. Even his own team had reservations!

Have to say eurosport commentary is much better than Steve Parrish at the BBC..

Hey, I think Steve Parrish is the dogs...you know whats!!

He rules.

I think Randy Mamola does a fine job of commentating. Until you've heard Israeli football commentators commentating on European football, you have no right to complain

<
, only that Mamola'd be the most pissed [I translate for non UK readers: drunk] of us all... and the least funny.

OK, ok, the BBC crew doesn't resist the comparison even to mad mamola. Oh, gosh, is there any decent channel out there with adjusted commentators, maybe?

I think Eurosports commentary team are brilliant. They have one thing that many of todays commentators lack; enthusiasm.

I'm not saying BBC commentary isn't good, just that I'd much prefer to listen to Moody, Ryder and Mamola. The BBC should hire them.

BTW, what about Steve Parrish in the same sort of role as Mark Blundell at ITV F1? I think that could work well..

At least you don't have to put up with Bracksy doing the pit lane thing. he is quite possibly the worst interviewer ever. Well second to Doohan, he was definately the worst!
<

Randy dose a good job.

Did anybody catch Scott Russell doing commentary for the Laguna(?) race on motogp.com. He was very clear, and gave great insite into the race.

KRUSTY! KRUSTY! KRUSTY!

I`m sure most people who`ve heard him with a mike during a race will agree he`s got the goods

I prefer Eurosport's commentary team, but I like the extra rider and parc ferme interviews that BBC do.

I love the commentary trio of Eurosport. Now I'm watching it on foxtel here in Australia and it's just boring compared to them and not to mention all the times they have their facts wrong.

You guys all ..... about Randy Mamola in the pit lanes, consider yourselves lucky. You've never heard Greg White.

Not at all. He seems to be a real nice guy and I know he's doing his best but something about him bothers me.

Ooost is MotoGP on Speed over there? Because their F1 commentary team is great...

BTW, it's rediculous they don't show it live. Bloody ...... circle racing
<

GREG WHITE!?!
<
<

dudes a douch bag!....
<

he's allways coming up with the most useless, mundane things to talk about during a race...and he's CONSTANTLY kissing "FAST" Freddie Spencers arse!..

"greg white here, so Freddy.....exactly whats the "KEY" to go fast on a motorcycle..."

"greg white here, so Freddy.....exactly why do these guys wear pucks on their knees....what the "KEY" there Freddy...."

"greg whit here, so Freddy...... what the "KEY" to get in your jockeys?"

DOUCH!....BAG!!!!

MotoGP is on Speed in the states but they jus use the motogp.com feed. I agree, their F1 broadcast team is great, I love Bob Varsha. For the AMA SBK stuff they get Ralf Shaheen, has no idea what he's talking about, Freddie Spencer, who is an amazing rider but not so good in the commentary box and then it's Greg White. AMA coverage is painful to say the least.
