That's the thing with situations like that, or control tyres like Pirelli in SBK. It makes for closer racing having everyone on the same hoops, but it's hard to judge where they're at, technology-wise, because theres no-one to compete with. Sure Pirelli still do tyre tests and stuff, but I garuntee you they'd work a lot harder if they had some competition. That said, I belive SBK is a perfect situation for control tyres.
