ALICE TEAM REORGANIZATION

Alice Team would like to communicate that from the Sachsenring Grand Prix the Team Management services offered by Luis d’Antin have ended, after he announced his resignation from the position.

Until the end of the season the technical direction of the Team will continue under the control of Fabiano Sterlacchini, while the logistical management of the structure will be undertaken, as it has for the past two years, by Felix Rodrigue

Wow. Apparently all is not well with Alice in Wonderland.

I actually can see Luis' exit interview with Ducati going something like this.......

I wonder if he was pushed out or walked. The team has been .... for years while d'Antin was in charge leaving me to believe that Ducati wanted someone to get results for them. Then again, when you read some of the comments from Hofmann, Barros and others that were in that garage, there wasn't much support coming from Ducati so maybe he got tired of it and left.

Either way, it's a superb opportunity for Ducati to use the satellite team how they want to and continue development.

So would this mean they are shopping for a new sponsor?

Well, based on the Barros interview in particular I'm not sure how I'd balance the blame for things being run in such a substandard fashion. Short of being ordered to suck, it's not like some of the missing things required Ducati support. Of course, given how little Ducati liked Barros beating stoner there could well have been orders to suck.

link for anyone who needs a reminder.

We'll see if there are changes going forward, I guess. You do have to wonder if they were slowing the Alice guys down to protect Melandri, though. Pushing someone running a factory team out for poor performance when their riders are right there with the second factory rider (and in one case slightly ahead) in the points doesn't seem super likely, so there's more too it than that. Things might clear up going forward.

I don't think so. d'Antin was involved with this team long before Alice came along. In fact, I think Alice came into the fold via their relationship with Ducati Corse.

Me too. WTF?

OK read in a Spanish site that D'Antin resigned and but will still retain his position as team co-owner (PRAMAC is the other owner). I guess there were some internal disputes there weren't made public.

He owns the team partly. He runs the team for 5 years. I heard The Ducati was not happy with the operation of his team Satellite and Luis D'Antin did little thing to improve them.

Yeah, like how did we become the KR07 of 08? That's pretty funny, the owner resigns...

your're all presuming he's left because of some dispute, he may have just left for personel reasons.

intriging none-the-less.

Good point.

This is what the beeb says:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>One thing that wasn't good for Spanish sport was the conspicuous absence of Ducati's satellite team manager Luis D'Antin this weekend.

D'Antin was unceremoniously fired and had his pass confiscated after sponsors Pramac and MotoGP rights holders Dorna finally got tired of bankrolling the privateer team.

After years of complaints from team members over unpaid wages and even unpaid hotel bills (on one occasion the mechanics were reportedly refused access to their rooms), the final straw apparently came when D'Antin treated himself to a brand new Porsche and a yacht.

The news will come as no surprise to Neil Hodgson, who had to endure D'Antin's questionable management style during his ill-fated two years in MotoGP.

The team responded to D'Antin's exit by producing their best weekend of the season, with Sylvain Guintoli finishing sixth.

I'd call that internal disputes allright

D'Antin treated himself to a brand new Porsche and a yacht, while wages and hotel bill's went unpaid. deserved the boot by the sounds of it.

Are you sure he's not a British politician?
