Lorenzo out of Malaysian GP

Good luck Jorge and get well soon.

You were brave and fearless all year long and put up a great fight. Huge respect for your efforts this year and hope to see you back on the bike asap.

So...they found the finger and put it back on?

Yes the finger has been re-attached and all went well in the operation apparently (nerves and tendons included) and there is hope full mobility will be restored.

Looks like he may miss the next 2 races but could be back for Valencia if his recovery goes well.

This above ! he has earned my respect this season having looked at he as a young up start landing the plumb ride but I feel he rode even better this season and beyond the limits many times to give CS the doubt he's still there...and I'm sure CS kept thinking any errors Horhay owuld be there to pick up the points.

Pity it ended the way it did yesterday for he but recover well Horhay see you next season.

Did they say anything about a replacement rider. Since they dont have corporate sponsorship, its probably not imperative they have both bikes running, but it would be nice to see Davies or Hayes get a call.

There is no chance that an AMA guy gets the call for a factory Yamaha MotoGP ride. I just don't think that anyone in the AMA gets enough media attention to afford such an opportunity. I'm not speaking to their talent, just their exposure.

Could they call up CE(baseball speak) and then replace him with another rider for tech3, seeing as one tech3 bike is yamaha's anyway. I would like to see CE get on the factory bike and it would probably light a fire under Ben's ... to perform. I hope the go with some one who has GP experience.

I like that idea a lot. It would give the old fart a sporting chance at his first/last/only MotoGP win.

Lets be real, if Damian Cudlin can get a call, anythings possible.Yea, were talking the difference between a satellite Ducati and a factory Yamaha, but still. I would guess 2/3rds of the GP fan world was Google searching Cudlins name when it was announced he would fill in. Hayes has been invited to take some laps on a GP bike as reward for his 2 straight " Superbike" titles, so who knows. It wouldnt surprise me if they leave it parked to save money.

malaysia is a fairly significant market, especially when it comes to sponsors. Air Asia and Petronas have both been mentioned as potential factory Yamaha backers before. If Spies doesn't make it i'd definitely expect someone to be riding, even if it's a promotion from Tech 3 or a test rider from back home. Not being represented at all can't be a favourable option

Agree, but i didnt know it was even a possibility of Spies not riding. I guess if he has a concussion and the next race is just days away its possible. I was referring to Lorenzo's machine only.

Thank God my imaginary friend.

Yes i've heard nothing that says he wont ride, but with a bang on the head and only a week to recover these things can take their toll.

Mmm! Nice Idea.
