Lorenzo feels better on Honda than Ducati

The man can now speaker now that he is free of Ducati

Last year, Lorenzo criticised Ducati for taking too long to respond to his requirements on the Desmosedici, with a new fuel tank that transformed his speed arriving after the team had already opted not to retain him for 2019.

The three-time premier class champion said Honda was already providing him with new material to help him feel more comfortable on the RC213V.

"One of the things that impressed me most was the ability of the Repsol Honda team to react, providing what you ask for," Lorenzo continued.

"I was quite clear, Honda took note of all my indications and within a few days they had everything ready, and we had a fuel tank almost 100 percent to my liking

Crash also have the same story with a bit more info

“I felt a little more confident when entering corners, because the closer you are to the ground, the more confidence you have. The first impression was positive and I saw a lot of potential there.

“In those moments your expression speaks for itself. It’s all very exciting, very new and enjoyable. Also, if the initial feeling is good, you can tell even more from your expression.”

Libby, I can't see him leaving unless he does an abysmal job and I cannot see that happening. The change from Yam to Duc was a lot greater and he has proved he can ride a completely different bike, so it will only serve him well on the Honda.

If Marquez decides on a new adventure after his current contract, Jorge may even see out his days as #1 Honda rider.

One thing is for sure, 2019/2020 is going to be EXPLOSIVE!

Yeah, so explosive that Marquez will conquer both years again. Nothing will change.

While I don't doubt Marquez will have the upper hand in the early part of this season, Lorenzo has shown countless times he is the only one who can consistently take to to Marquez and once he gets CONSISTENTLY comfortable on that bike, I don't think it will be the whitewash you expect it to be.

As Libby says, time will tell though.

Sure, MM would be favoured against most if not all riders in gp bike racing history, but a fractured clavicle and an imo illegal move at Jerez rather than superior pace was the difference in 2013, admittedly MM’s rookie year, and Jorge also looked to have very competitive pace early season 2016 before they took “his” tyre away after it started exploding when employed by Ducati. Dovi won several last corner battles, greatly to his credit, but has not really ever shown the totally dominant pace of Jorge in “butterhamner” mode.

I don't want to Jinx Jojo but I think he might just surprise Marquez with what that Honda is is capable of when ridden in (to quote michaelm) "butter-hammer" mode. There is a flip side to this as well as Marquez could very well benefit from Jojo's input to the development of the bike. I would be very surprised if the Honda factory package doesn't get even more competitive with those two aiming for the 2019 title. Bring on the Sepang shakedown already!
