The thought of Yamaha losing Vale surely spurred them on to improve the bike over winter, why not create a little more incentive within the team to ensure they develop it hard too?

yeah thats a very good idea dude, i read on autosport i think that yamaha was making rossi wait for some new parts so this is a good plan see if they really mean buisness.

I don't think this applies to the true sporting greats, like ali for instance.

In motorsport in particular, everyone knows such things as equipment, luck etc are much less under the control of the competitor than in non-technical sports, despite what we sometimes argue on here. The natural state of affairs in modern motogp is really for honda to win, and if he and burgess were still there he would very likely be lining up for premier class championship number 8 with a substantial points lead. He would have to be running mid-pack for years to really tarnish his legacy, and that would never happen if he kept racing till he was 40.

I don't think people really think schumacher not winning the title the last 2 years of his career diminishes his career much if at all, and lawson is still right up there as an all-time great despite mucking around with cagiva.

I personally think he may quit when, or if, he beats the new crop of young riders.

I think he's a guy that's just out there still having fun. Schwantz once said that once Rainey left...."he wasn't having fun anymore" so he bowed out......maybe Rossi will do the same.

Well then, enter Sete, enter fun zone. Sete--Rossi's little fun toy of distraction on the track.

I find it disappointing to be left wondering what could have been achieved.
