I can't believe it!!
I am sure from dorna's point of view ktm, like michelin, are only minor bit players in gp racing, and easily dispensed with.

Well 250's is as good as finished anyway, its just a shame to see it play out with no variation in the field.

I agree obviously. My point is the same as with michelin, who probably haven't done a great job in the last 2 years, but have been involved in gp bike racing for a long time; are energy drink firms more likely to stay with bike racing in tough times than tyre or bike manufacturers? Unfortunately we may soon be in a position to know.

well i can't say that this surprises me. no reason to throw money at a doomed format. look at it this way, we now have what could be considered a spec series. all are gonna be on aprilias. the 2 old hondas & even older yamaha don't count.

Except that unfortunately the specs vary wildly.

KTM have really got something to prove in 125 now, good luck to them.

Found this on thread in MotoGP forum.

Some interesting stuff there. "[Harald] Bartol accused Carmelo Ezpeleta and Dorna of lying to them." is a classic. Can't agree that death is coming. Fifteen bikes next year won't be a problem and the transition to 600s will be a good thing, putting the class smack dab on the target for the largest street sportbike demographic. As mentioned on another thread, lets see some European manufacturers start crankin' out 600cc engineering.

Maybe the threads should be merged.

This is very bad news, KTM has the potential to really take it to Aprillia.. Honda have given up

It's such a shame that they didn't produce a road going version of the GP bike, I for one would definately buy one (at cost price because I work for a KTM dealer)
