The JL of years past is not present this year so far. I am at a loss for explaining his performance so far this season. Nor do I know his present mindset. Will he take a Suzuki? Or one of the Ducs? Or stay put at his Yamaha home?

I don't have a clue so anyone with an opinion please share.

Hello there, whammy!

Nor do I know his present mindset.

Of course you don't.
How would you know his mindset????
Why would you even post that.

I don't have a clue so anyone with an opinion please share.

As for sharing my opinion.....I agree with you.....you don't have a clue.

You post up stuff that is so over dramatic and convoluted it is at a detriment to the forum.

Keep it simple....racing.

No "what ifs"
No "I imagine"
No "I think he's thinking"

You're like the John Edwards of the forum

Keep it simple....racing.....not conspiracies and crazy theories

If he leaves Yamaha I can only see him retiring or going Honda. He wants to be the best and Suzuki and surely ducati will not allow him to do that.

I feel like Suzuki isn't a serious option for any top rider besides MAYBE Pedrosa. Even then I can only see Pedrosa at Honda or Yamaha. With Puig gone I think he's a bit more free to do what he wants.

Lannone at Ducati? Even though Ducati bikes have been given free gifts to catch up from Dorna, he's been pretty impressive. more than Bradl or Smith have been.

I feel the most interesting subject is A Espargs open Yamaha... Is it a serious option for any really good rider? He is not that good - in his Pramac he failed to impress and beating De Puniet isn't too difficult. The bike must be great - he almost beat Dani at assen.

Hello there, whammy!

Hi Dr No.... Fancy seeing you here. Figured you had a position on staff at the over yonder site. Congrats on whatever position you snagged.

Still struggling with my profanity. I do better when I stay away from peeps like the bickering crowd that used to be here. Maybe I can be profane free by the day I die.

Gotta go now... tell everyone I said Hi. Now don't take this personal but I am gonna put you on ignore cause I know once I answer you that you will slip on a dress and get all bitchy at me. So long Dr.

Snell, did you just call my friend whammy menstrual flow? Bit harsh.

Dag Nab It - All the wrong people are posting to my thread. If this keeps up then I will be forced to take somebody off Ignore.

Or maybe not...........

I think Lorenzo will be re-signed for one year. He will get his mojo back, I sure hope he does. I just cant understand whats going on this year, even with the Bridgestone issues etc. Has MM really got into his head that much?, surely not for a professional racer of his calibre. Just don't listen to Max too much JL !!

Best Advise of 2014!!!

Max is a head case, and if JLo is falling into the same trap then he is done....cause he wont be able to fight back on anything other than a perfectly set up bike....and we all know that rarely if ever exists in racing....

Welcome to the forum and thanks for your measured response OneDavid. I can see that like me you pay attention to the offtrack activity of all the riders.

The only thing that troubles me is JL's demeanor this season. He is not happy with the bike, the tires, nor even his team. He has the look of a rider who feels he is not getting the support he needs to do his job. He is becoming more and more adrift of the team like someone searching for an outlet. I'm not talking about someone who is having a bad season and trying to find a solution but someone who is fed up and casting his eyes over the fence looking for greener pastures. Even on track he refuses to give 100% effort and just settles for completing the race. That's not totally true because one race he did show that spark but mostly I see a lack of enthusiasm for the race.

Will he jump? I don't know however it will be interesting to watch and see what happens.

I wouldn't be overly suprised to see him else where either 2015 or maybe 2016, I know Yam are not keen to give him a year deal, also no keen to pay him as much as he is asking for, sounds fair enough to me on Yams part, he is not the rider doing the biz at the moment, and will always sell less bikes on Monday than Rossi... If Yam wont pay him what he's asking for pretty sure Suzuki wont either, but if there is a free slot Ducati have some pretty deep pockets.
Worrying thing I read on motogp.com was in his interview after Assen he said he was scared of crashing after last year, might not be to much to worry about after what happened to him last year there, but I kinda feel once something like that sets in, its a downward spiral. At mo he is scared of crashing in wet at Assen, then if it rains somewhere else and he might back off a little, the conditions are not great at another race so he might not wanna risk it, or the bike feels bad so wont push 100%.....
Its all speculation, and I hope he proves me wrong, but IMO its starting to not look so good.

Spot on there and I can understand him being timid at Assen but the next wet session be it FP, Q, or Race will indicate to us which way he is heading. I will be watching closely to see the path he chooses to take. Also whether he improves his race results in the next few races will be the difference of chicken feed for his contract or fatted hams piled on the contract. Hope he is wary of that fact.

If I am not mistaken I believe that read somewhere that JL is pushing for a two year contract with an opt out after one year clause added. Can't remember where.

Even more evidence that he is looking for greener grass providing I am correct about the opt out.

Sorta like I wanna keep my current girlfriend but I have seen her cousin and kinda want to go over and kiss her when I get a chance.

in terms of him going to Honda, I dunno really, I think he might want to in some ways but it's very much Marc's team at the moment, would he really wanna go there, if he did there would be no more excuses about the bike ect.
And would Honda wanna upset the apple cart bring in a new rider, Pedrosa for his failing's is a solid rider, doesn't DNF much bags the points and will only threaten the 93 on a few occasions through out the year but if anything go's wrong for Marc, Dani will pick up the pieces.
I imagine (pure spectulation again) Pedrosa will be taking a bit of a pay cut if he stays at Honda but Lorenzo would cost them more.
Just seems like Pedrosa is they're best bet in my eyes... This is also compounded by the fact JL seems to really not like to/be able to ride a bike in the aggressive and point & squirt manor that the current Honda demands. And the bike is surly gonna develop more towards MM's style by next year.
If JL wants to ride a Honda against MM and his heart is still in racing, he would maybe be wise to wait until 2016 with the big rules and tyre shake up, might be best opportunity to be on level ground.

Dani will be at Honda. You are absolutely right about that. He is the best second seat that I have ever seen in racing. Don't grumble, well behaved off track, humble with the media, and produces results for the team year after year.

Suzuki has always wanted to race on the cheap. Cheapskates can't win championships in MotoGP. If Honda has taught us anything it has to be spend enough money to buy the WC. Since Suzuki is a startup team with no reputation JL should ask about the total budget. Nay demand to see it - the total budget. Ads, travel, wages, hospitality, and even the skyboxes in addition to what will be placed toward the bike and up keep. In other words find out how deeply they want to invest into racing.

But as you say Ducati is the most logical because Cal is a goner. Gigi has been successful with his other ventures and there is no reason to think that the new Duc won't be a winner especially with the 2016 rule changes. MMMMMmmmm that might explain the one year opt out Jorge is pressing for. He wants a look see at the 2015 Duc before signing with Ducati.

One rider we have not mentioned for the Suzuki is E Laverty. I know he crashes a lot but he is not afraid to twist that throttle. He also has a big desire to be up front. Suzuki could get him at a lower cost too. Well maybe not after crash damages but then again they will replace those first few bikes anyway with a second generation. Eugene is not doing too bad in WSBK with what he has to work with. If I had to bet I would say he will get the Suzy .......... dang I gotta factor in Iannone somewhere. This junk is confusing.
