Texas, but from So. Central L.A.
I'm just bored and high, and dont have anything else to do, but what about some sort of Jordan, suzuki, spies collaboration with a satellite team in motoGP in a couple years.
It's far fetched, but maybe not that far.
Jordan is a sponsor magnet, he's become quite the motorcycle enthusiast, and I know he's got an admiration for spies

just to get a discussion started

It would be interesting to see but Jordan has had enough problems with Suzuki.

The AMA treated him like an unwelcome addition to the grid, but I'm sure MotoGP would to have him on board. He probably even more well known than Rossi.

Jordan has some ties with Ducati as well. I'd expect him to make a deal with KR, Ducati, and Spies before he tried anything with Suzuki.

Hell NO you're NOT far fetched!...I brought this up way back when MJ git into bikes and got into the AMA...I'm sure i'll NEVER find it, but MJ said himself he'd like to sponsor a Moto GP team....
He has the money and the sponsors for sure.

we know he likes to WIN

He has the money to finance everything himself if needed.

Great idea. But he'd have to be competitive. Like Gresini 2005 type competitive. A race win contender, and I am not sure with Suzuki that is possible. He hates how the AMA is right now as no matter how mucch he puts in, he still will be bottom top 10 at best.

also, he is one of the few people who can get just about any sponsor he wants just by making a phone call

Well he is the most famous person alive, outside some politicans and religious figures.

He sounds like a bit of a .... to be honest, i agree he would need a better bike than Suzuki who haven't managed to win a DRY race since Kenny Roberts Jnr.

Also i don't think Spies is the man for the job, would he support someone else non american with more experience?

When he first started his team the questions came about as to whether or not he would move to GP and he said from the get-go that MotoGP is his goal. His AMA team is just a stepping stone, or a place to learn before he sinks serious money into a GP project.

I doubt that would happen. Michael Jordan is in iconic stature to kids, I don't think he would put cigarettes on the sides of his bikes no matter the money. And isn't there an unofficial freeze of tobacco sponsorship within all the Japanese manufacturers?

He'd sign anyone he thinks can win. Evident by trying to lure Hayden back to AMA to ride for him in 2005 or 2006. But most, if not all of his rider relations are with Americans.

At some point the money could get big enough. The unofficial freeze is a bigger deal.

Hayden and Spies would be a great team. Either Nicky or Roger Lee IMO.

Hey just noticed I've moved up to a 125 whizkid status. I'm truly humbled. LOL . Great to be in the group. Really.

I think Jorge "Air" Lorenzo is auditioning for a spot on this team.

Yes I have said this before just not on this site. His hanes sponsorship/endorsement money should be enough by itself to pay for a GP team. Just think if he got Nike involved like PUMA is these days making racing boots. This GP thing is gettin more mainstream every year. I think that we will see it sooner than you think. Just look at all the advancements in the marketplace that MOTO GP has had in the past 5-7 years. Heck it is now being shown on regular networl TV in the U.S. I for one am excited to see it grow and have more oppotunities to maybe get to see a race.
