I have been lurking around this forum for awhile and finally made a few posts, so maybe I can introduce myself and not feel so sneaky. My husband has bikes and does track days and I watched a lot of racing without being remotely interested....and one day, found myself absolutely hooked. My friends and family make sport of me, as this rabid interest is way out of character.

So, even though I am too old and have many other things I should be doing instead, I find myself clicking through these boards. And I am constantly saying to my husband, " Well, somebody on the MotoGP Forum said..."

you can post here, or you could have created a whole new topic to make an introduction, but eitherway, welcome on the forum! can't relate with the husband part yet, but I do have that with my dad; I always say: 'well, I read on the forum that....' and on the forum it's: 'well, my dad said...'

Hi, I'm another Aussie on the bandwagon! Started reading this site about a week ago and decided to join. I love Vale but hey, I'll always support an Aussie first. So, naturally I'll be defending Casey from all you Italian nuts!!!

Who isn't a Doohan fan? Not many could ride the 2 stroke 500 like Doohan!

Hi guys

Ive been reading stuff on this site for the past few weeks and desided to join.

I follow F1, MotoGP, ChampCar, and V8s (Australia) Pretty much any high profile racing Australians are involved in. I just love motor sport, especially when an Aussies in there.

Welcome aboard Captain, I guess you support Webber in F1? He's doing pretty well don't you think?

Hi, all
Quick intro!

I started watching motogp in 2005, having no previous knowledge of its existance!!!

Flicking through the tv channels i saw 2 guys in the back of a taxi going around London near Bukingham Palace. One was intervewing the other i thought this guy was HOT! which got my attention! with a laid back, fun kinda personality. Who was this guy? What did he do? I continued to watch to find out, it was motogp rider valentino rossi who was leading the 2005 championship GO! GO! GO! was the moto.

It was pouring down with rain on this race day many riders were sliding off course many fell but this rider even though he was momontarily thrown up off the bike managed to tame her and slip past the other riders infront, like a 'knife through butter' with what seemed like effortless ease.
He seemed a fearless rider, riding at high speeds in dangrous conditions to claim the victory. My mind of fantasy was in overdrive!!! I have wathched motogp ever since.

For this bike and rider combo 06/07 season though, instead of GO! GO! GO! its now SLOW!! SLOW!! SLOW!! Can it really be a tyre issue? If so why wasnt it detected before the racing season began during testing?!! according to rossi during testing his bike 'REALLY FLEW' he even won the BMW for fastest time! It seemes to me the Ducati team did the clever thing keeping their bikes proweress and speed performance 'under wraps' untill the official race day, and watch the mouths drop sitting safe in the knowledge thats its too late for the other manufacturers to do anything drastic to their bikes to match the Ducati performance, well played spectacularly displayed i'd say.

I was shocked to see the first race in Qatar 07 the Yamaha seemed to have a scooter engine compared to the other bikes!! The fact that rossi has managed to get this piece of metal!! past the finish line deserves the 07 world title!!! Its a shame to see a talanted rider relegated to wearing shades!!

But once Hayden won Rossi 06 every-other rider now knew this guy is beatable that his armour was penatrable and now with the added insentive of Stoner who was previously a non finisher now winning races with proper factory support, bike and engineers, riders are wanting more from their teams and moving to different factory rides to get it to become world champion. All riders are now pushing more for the victory, that they now know is possible.

Its great to see other riders upfront on these new 800cc bikes it makes motogp less pradictable and shows that their are other talented riders out there on the grid who are made to look talentless on under performing bikes and teams who dont know whats going on with the manufactures and parts behind the scenes!!!!! Looking forward to see what Melandri can do on a Ducati in 08, and Rossi back to a more challenging form, and less 'excuses' or 'reasons' from riders which never add up. But at least there is this motogp forum to unearth some of the truths keep up the good work.

Hi all,

Came Across the site looking for the MotoGP board game ( which i still haven't found! lol) Thought i would join up it seems like a lot of people have said are the same as me, huge fans of the sport but mates aren't!!

I have an NC30 myself, play a lot of Moto GP 2 online with my PC, go Donington every year ( only Fp i aint that rich lol)

I am related to Rocket Ron and Leon ( my claim to fame!!)

Just thought it would be nice to come and chat with like minded people, most of my buds are F1 fans, i personally don't like it too much emphasis on Machine and Politics!!

My avatar is pic i took at Donington this year, got pretty close to the man!! Also got very wet!!!

Thanks Frosty, Lol Butterfly, i've got that first episode on video still, with the Taxi interview too!!
