Yea, I didn't think through the poll options as well as I should.  Unfortunately, I can't edit it.

Our bud, 'W,' did cross my mind, but nothing 'clicked' for me.

I think Mr. Pies tried to play is straight but, like my poll, the effort fell short. He was almost too flat and quiet.  A little more Walter Matthau, might have saved the day.

HEY!!! Who's the ...... who voted for Ben?!

Hey... that's how comedy teams work. Somebody has to be the straight man.

Lovin' the Buick wagon... Roadmaster Rules!!! New nickname - the Texas T-Rex or TexRex!!!

My vote was for someone else. But I can't decide between the entire Bush family or Joe Simpson and his wonderful daughters.

I'm with you, but straight and bland are different. But hey, at least Spies has been a great sport on these Yamaha vids. I'm sure it was uncomfortable for the person pitching the idea while Spies looked on with a straight face, as in "Are you F..ing kidding me?" Hahaha

I just watched it again, Edwards is a cool mofo.

I voted for Spies, since he played his act very poorly, but the most un coolest and worst Texan of all time will be G.W.Bush.

I remember him sounding a little more bright and enthusiastic in interviews as late as '06, then he went downhill.

Maybe dealing with Mat I-have-to-be-a-hateful-competitor Mladin bummed him out and damaged his personality? Or maybe it came with age?

A while back, a member here said Spies looked like, "a dead-faced frat boy."

Can agree with that. So much enthusiasm over the most pointless stuff.

Better than Rossi. Remember that Yamaha day at the factory video?
He was just his usual hammy self - but not really what you'd call theatrically adroit.

Wasn't that me? Still think so - but he get's 'er done. Just seems like not a particularly
cuddly or gregarious guy. Still - he's got miles more charisma than Mad-Dog Mladin.
Seriously - now that he's not under the shadow Mladin - Spies has come a long way
in terms of being more at ease with the press. Even after all these years - when in
front of a camera - Lawson is like a plank of pinewood.
