I know....I know that seems too early anyway
Whether get or not the title next year, Valentino Rossi leave Fiat Yamaha Team when season 2008 ending ¿Does he back to Honda or sign with Marlboro Ducati?
About this late one. ¿Stoner-Rossi teammates?., sound like dream team but i think would be like Prost Senna at Mc Laren Honda mid 90.
Now speaking about Honda. Hayden was overshadow by Rossi, Does Pedrosa accept him. Money has something to say. At least

Well. Despite lots of rumours and silly talk i think Rossi has said he will end his career with Yamaha. however if he moved i could see him going to Honda or Ducati, depending on who had the best offer for him at the time. Stoner would accept him for sure, because he wants a fair comparison to shut up his doubters, and i think Pedrosa would feel the same. I think Rossi would be more likely to reject a team mate than either of the youngsters. As for the Prost - Senna comment, did you see Dani and Nicky last year, every time they got near each other it became about pride and eventually they paid the price, fortunately the consequences weren't as bad as they could have been.

As far as Stoner is concerned I think this is correct. However, Honda has seen what happens when two teamates don´t get along, the team sufferes (the crash at Estoril 2006). Two rosteres in the same chicken coup doesn't usually work so I think that Ducati and Honda wouldn´t really be too happy, and I don´t think that either Rossi or Stoner would be happy with playing second chair.

yes I kinda think that why Rossi stopped Stoner for Yamaha in 07 .... Geremy must be biting his lip
<
<
...... Rossi must have known Stoner was coming ...... they have a closer idea of whats happening/going to happen, I guess.

I don't think Ducati could handle the "bitchin" that would go on if they had Rossi. Would send them broke!

Nah, Rossi wouldn't pay his bitchin-tax

I am sorry, but have a missed something?

As far as I recall the only pilot being nasty about team mates is Pedrosa. Rossi has been nothing but excellent to all the other riders, even trying to explain that Stoners fall was due to tire issues. Rossi is one of the most curtious riders out there.

As for the issue with two rosters what I am saying is that having two riders actively fighting for 1st lessens a teams chance to win. You want sinergy on the track two guys working together to get the most podiums and more points for the team. Two guys killing each other in crazy passes (i.e. Honda) doesn´t help the team. You need riders that are willing to work well together.

Ducati would love to have an italian rider win with their bike, it would be gold for them. But to do so Stoner would have to ride shot gun and I don´t think that would be very fair to either rider.

I too believe that Rossi would rather end his career at Yamaha but they have to provide a bike that is as good as the rider on it.

Cheers,

rossi is italian, ducati is italian! I'm so convinced he will go to ducati someday, I'm even willing to make a bet with anyone who wants too
<

I think it all depends on how well melandri will do. ducati won't let stoner go. so if melandri sucks at it (which I doubt) then they'll might sack him and get rossi. ducati wants to have an italian rider on their bike
<
and what better way to end your carreer could there be if your valentino rossi and you had the opportunity of going to ducati?

I will bet you Rossi is never a Ducatir rider in motogp.

What do we bet?

You keep saying that. And yeah, he did say it in 2006. But 2007 has turned out to be well below his expectations and he did not mince words about it. Yamaha deliver or he goes.

Im sure Rossi knows the landscape better than i ,but to assume that he can just move to Ducati at his will, and Stoner will like it, is presumptious thinking. To start with,Melandri and Stoner are signed past 2009 and i doubt Rossi would agree to a satellite bike.Second,Stoner dont have to welcome him with open arms, why would he.He is the man at Ducati, that would change with Rossi on board, nationality would demand it.Ducati has found their long time rider, would they risk losing him to appease Rossi for a couple of years.Besides, the way things are looking,by 2009,Honda will have regained the title of having best bike and Michelin might have a better tire.Thats who i see him sucking back up to if the Yamaha isnt doing it for him any more. That way he could go back to the best bike and Michelin without looking like a fool

I don't think Rossi could ride the Ducati either ...... lets face it the difference between Stoner and Capi/and other Duc. riders, this year showed it to be a temperamental ride to say the least.

I don't think people realise what a match Stoner and Duc. was. Same as Bayliss ...... both are kinda knockabout country boys ..... they are not riders of sewing machines and indeed I doubt they ever would be.

The Rossi on Bridgestones seems to have done nothing ...... why folk translate Stoner winning on a Duc. to "Rossi could win on the Duc." is beyond me. The bike he is most atuned to got him 3rd .... why would anyone think he would go better on a Duc. Its a nonsense.

Nobody could guess after 2006 that Stoner would be so fast. It's the proverbial door that swings both ways, & you cannot definitely say that Rossi wouldn't be fast.

& I wouldn't call the Jerez test "nothing", Jesus.

I could if I wanted to, but I doubt if I'd ever say that! ... that would be a stupid thing to say really!! especially just after watching him ride to a well earned 3rd in a season of the top moto race formula.

He may not have been the fastest in 07 but he was stll fast!

Too true. Only people who accuse others of being blinkered and spouting religious diatribe are not entirely innocent of doing that themselves. Works both ways. Always does.

Why in God's name would anyone think Rossi will head back to Honda?!

He won't go back, Honda won't make him an offer. Perhaps they aren't bitter rivals anymore, but they aren't going to make a deal either. I'm convinced that's the case anyway.

Ducati is looking increasingly unlikely. They have Casey and Marco signed through 2009. It is unlikely Ducati will maintain a competitive advantage and by the time 09 rolls around Rossi won't have 2 years left in his career to make development changes. I don't think Burgess will come with him to Duc either. Even if both agreed to go, I don't know that Duc could afford them.

The only team I could see Rossi going to is Kwak. They have a layout he is familiar with, and they already have an engine that is reportedly more advanced than most in the paddock. All team green needs is a good pilot and someone to help them develop the handling and electronics. Hopkins is only on a 1 year deal so it seems like they will have the option to make Rossi an offer.

Chances are they could retain both, since John probably won't take a non-factory seat and the only way he could land a factory ride (non-suzuki) would be to land at Yamaha. Unless Honda/Hayden sours and Hopper and Hayden swap.

here's a perfect example of misinformation, already debunked as untrue, maintaining a life well beyond it's years because people keep bringing it up and asserting the (incorrect) assumption as truth.

both rossi and stoner have gone on record saying that rossi had no problem with stoner as a potential teammate.

it makes much more sense that Yamaha wanted nothing to do with Stoner because at the time, he was known as a crasher... not good for $ or development. Remember that Stoner was Ducati's FOURTH choice.

Burgess considered retiring as an alternative to the Yamaha switch. It is my opinion that Burgess will not move again, and that Rossi will not go to another factory without him.

hayden on a kawasaki would be a dream, atleast he would go to a company that would treat him well. they already had tommy and roger is still there. he needs to leave honda and let them do whatever it is they are going to do. its obvious they could care less about him.

as far as rossi goes, i just think ducati took them all by surprise this year. honda is starting to make a comeback and hopper could be some serious competition on the kawi. rossi will win wherever he goes because he is that good and gets that much respect.

I think you are assuming, incorrectly, that I mean there will be bitchin between the riders ..... not what I meant about "bitchin" ...... I mean Rossi may not like the Duc. as it is and as such would ..... about it till it was made how he wants it ..... and then I don't think it would be the same bike as Stoners anyway.

No I think Rossi and Stoner would get on fine on the personality front ..... I just don't think the Duc. is the bike for Rossi. All the changes he would require would need a huge budget .... I don't think Ducati have that.

I agree with you there. I think the TC heavy Ducati would be more the problem, old school riders probably have issues with trusting to the bikes electric control and prefer to make the calls themselves. The Ducati, having the advanced TC system that it does would not really fit Rossi´s style I think.

Cheers

This would be intresting and it would be the same kind of move that he did when he switched from Honda to Yamaha. Don´t know if he would take that kind of risk at this point.

Anyone?
