Is Stoner the new Rossi?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (jazkat @ Mar 16 2008, 06:53 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>hi tom,

yes thats what way i meant lorenzo has a similar attitude, he also likes to celebrate after a win which i think is a good way to give your loyal fans something back after giving you loyal support, but for a stoner win you get a half cocked wobbly wheelie which is for himself and a thumbs up then thats it back to the garage which is just a total bore....

i think its only rite for fans to be given something back for supporting a rider and traveling miles to watch them race.
after a race the adrenilin is pumping and for fans to see you doing wheelies and smoking the rear tire there is nothing better.

Try WWF

Not every rider likes to pretend to bowl tenpins over after a win.
Not every rider likes to pretend they are a rock star after a win.
Some are shy and don't seek extra publicity and don't carry on as if they are the greatest thing since sliced bread when they win a race.
Stop bullshitting us here jazkat. Your problem with Casey is that he's winning and taking some of the attention away from a certain hero of yours.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Rossi_fan @ Mar 16 2008, 03:40 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>I think the key to rossi getting back on top is to start saying that casey is wining because of the bike once again. Make him so pissed off that he screws up. If all the riders got together and did that it might work.
<

I was wondering if the complete opposite was the case ...... several times he has expressed dismay at all the BS going on in fan world ...... and at those times he then goes on to ride a scorcher ..... I think he is a bit of a fighter and his way of fighting back at negative comments is to get out there and win. Eg. Donnington 07 ..... he got a good sooking from the fans there ... and look what he did there!!

He seemed pissed at all the BS floating around at Qatar and look what he did there ...... matter of fact his first comment was on the BS and naysayers
<
<

So in terms of making him go bad just keep up the "its the tyres", "its the bike", "its the electonics", "its any other reason apart from Stoners riding", he seems to revel in it

Let's face it - Lorenzo has talent but some of his 'stunts' are downright embarassing. Look at that one where he was trying to be a "rockstar" with two other idiots on guitars dressed like him. Probably the most cringeworthy effort to be like Rossi that I've ever seen. At least Rossi looks like he naturally enjoys his celebrations. Some of Lorenzo's look very stage managed and forced.

BTW - why is anyone even commenting on this stupid thread, because it never made sense to begin with?

fragle or whatever your name is i was answering tom, doesnt matter if they dont do those 2 things but the smoking of tyre and donuts, wheelies is what the crowd love.
not a problem of casey wining at all in fact i quite like it. the different manufacturers need to get of there ... anyway and casey winning speeds that up well hopefully.

anyway thanks for your comment maybe you should take up fishing you boring swine!

This bit alone tells us how much honesty went into your post.
Fishing is enjoyable - being bitter is not and you sir are bitter.
The burnouts will almost always be a thing of the past while they persevere with the limit on fuel.
Valentino has mentioned this himself. They are lucky to have enough fuel to get them back to the pits nowadays.

Despite being a big Lorenzo fan i would never critisize another rider for not having extragagant enough celebrations. I admire the guys who race just for the racing without caring what people think of them. I do think characters like Rossi and Lorenzo are entertaining but as a fan i would never feel like a rider owes me anything because i watch primarily for the riding.

Rossi's celebrations can be equally as embarassing when considered from the same perspective. Either take them as some light hearted entertainment for the fans and enjoy it, or judge the riders to be ego tripping, arrogant show offs. Ultimately they both do the same thing, but naturally Rossi is FAR more popular.

and thats how i look at them, great riders having a bit of fun and giving the fans a laugh.

in every sport there will be a person who dominates for Years and years,i my self is a rossi fan and always will be even when the guy retires (if he ener decides too)
<
BUT at the end of the day the technology brings new riders with better stuff to race with, stoner is the new man to beat as was rossi when he started, the problem is not the rossi or stoner its also a case of the bikes performance.rossi has had the best of everything from the early days and i mean at aprillia.rossi was stoners hero and now he has become a tad better but only with the ducati pumping into it.

i have a few chums in oz that tell me they do not like stoner AT ALL and are embarresed to be ozzie ???
lets face it race fans
the sport will continue, the riders will have their glory, the fans will stay loyal, but we also have to accept that evry rider is not the new this or that
i mean who wants to be the new roberts jr ?
nicky haydon wanted to be him for a season as champ and he got the wish.
the 1st race of the season doesnt mean fook all.the weather will bring other hurdles for all teams and riders to overcome.
i would love to see vale do the right thing and take the top spot back but a dark horse can come from no where and beat the whole lot.

we are fans of certain riders and our thoughts view etc do count.
but will this sport become a football nightmare in the future ???
battling fans on the side of the track chucking flags and caps at each other.
the sport is in my opinion struggling, with all sorts of gossip etc.

support the rider you like and take the end result as a true fan (i get pissed off when vale ..... up but i look 2 the next race )

I still maintain that Jorge's look very forced and stage managed. You may think they're funny, I think they look stupid. I laugh - laugh at how stupid he looks!

So you must be able to equaly accept that Rossi's can be seen in the very same light, particularly by people who don't share his sense of humour or enjoy him winning.
