Is Spies going to continue to disappoint?

I don't blame him for his Jerez crash, everyone's tires were gone long before he went down, but with his disappointing showing in Qatar and now the DNF in Jerez he's destroying my hopes at a fantasy league win as I keep putting him on or near the podium.

I was convinced that he'd be able to run with the four aliens but now I'm not so sure. Could he be just another also-ran?

There is a lot of strong competition but I really think he can do well. I wouldn't count him out yet.

I think it's still too early to tell. I happen to think he will be right there with them after a few races. For sure the one thing he still needs to work on, which was also a problem last year, is his pace in the beginning of races. He always starts out lukewarm and has to play catchup in the end.

I hope not.. he's saying the factory bike is a completely different beast to the Tech 3. Hope he can get to grips with it soon.

it called PRESSURE

As he laptimes after the first few laps will testify, Spies has frontrunning pace. I think it's a matter of time before he bags a win. If he can get comfortable on cold Bridgestones, he'll be a real contender. If not, I foresee a trajectory like Dovizioso's.

i'm a big fan of spies. i've watched his career progression starting with the battles in ama against matt mladin. i must admit that i'm a little dissapointed. i believe he will come good though. the guy can ride a bike, and has great racecraft. i think expectations are set higher for him though. because of the things he's done over his career.

bah, Id say Spies is doing good, Im not knocking him for this weekend, last weekend (he was held up my Rossi) , he didnt do all that great. But he does display some top lap times. I wouldn't say he's dissapointing yet. He must win a race this year though to show some solid improvement oherwise he'll find himself riding a Suzuki in GP real quick.

It requires a superhuman effort to run up front with the fab four...he has the talent to do it but he needs to get a handle on running fast laps from the get go.

That will take time, effort and intimate knowledge of his team and bike setup to get there. I really hope we see him fighting up front soon but I wouldnt expect miracles just yet. Personally I think he is doing a great job so far.

I think Ben is intimidated by WhoreHey Lorentho. Did anyone noticed after he dropped his bike in the kitty litter he just basically gave up and wasn't even in a rush to pick up his bike to continue? I think he would of been able to continue and gather some points, it didn't seem like the fall did much damage to the bike, but it seems like Ben just called it quits.

I would like to see Ben do better and was also disappointed that he didn't try to finish Jerez - who knows - maybe something was bent or broken - hope it's not his will to win.

He wont WSBK in his rookie year....so year 2 in MotoGP he will need to run up front all season, and year 3 he should be wining races regularly...not just home races...or accidental give away wins....if he cant then he is a disapointment and should be relegated back to WSBK....clearly wsbk is the third or forth tier racing....look checa and biaggi donig great at it....and so why Spies was able so win so easily....

what year in MotoGP/500 did Rossi and Stoner win their titles?

Spies is ok, i think he knows he isn't a title contender this year. He has speed he just needs to iron out the details and learn to put a whole weekend together regardless of conditions and circumstances. Admitedly that is the hardest step, the last one. I don't see why he can't win a race this year and finish 5th overall

i think

full season

Rossi 2000 debut factory Honda title in 2001 on the Factory Honda

Stoner 2006 debut LCR Kit Honda ? title in 2007 on the Factory Duck

both won there title in there second year on factory kit

Well, in that sense Stoner's achivement was greater, as it was his first season on the Duc.

all the bigger riders are having the most troubles..

itll come..the 1000s are his

I am not sure that an increase in engine capacity of 200cc is going to suddenly leapfrog Spies past the aliens.

PS What happened to your Vale/Casey egg on face avatar? It suited you hehe
