Is Rossi a dead beat no pay

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (povol @ Sep 14 2009, 07:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>The firm claim that their agreement with Rossi include a clause granting them between 1% and 1.5% of the money they managed to save him in taxes. As the reduction in Rossi's tax bill they are claiming to have achieved is around 170 million euros

If the reduction of his tax bil was 170 million Euro

he should be fine

Of course Rossi never had 170 millions in his life... That was the theoretical amount of fines for unpaid taxes, it wasn't the taxes. Nobody can pay that kind of fines... At that level you then negotiate and pay something you actually can pay (Rossi settled for 30 millions or so).

Now there will be another negotiation with these guys--they are of course stretching it quite a bit, asking their percentage on the theoretical money Rossi was fined, which he couldn't have paid anyway.

One thing is sure--Rossi is not going to retire too soon, he needs to make up for all these losses

What, you think he will drive a F1 car for free? I guess it all depends on what you mean by retire. He may not be able to retire from motorbike racing cause that is where he will get paid the most, if that's what you meant.

It's easy to see that these lawyers are just going after his money. They will be the most hated people in the country soon enough.

This article only lends credence to my unsubstantiated claims that he is broke and he has sold out to the governing body. I think everyone remembers that Rossi was basically offering his services to the highest bidder at the end of 2008. He was making lots of remarks about how great WSBK was or how much he would like going to F1. If teams get money from Dorna for keeping Toseland in the paddock, imagine how much teams get for keeping Rossi happy. Imagine how much of that Rossi has managed to negotiate for himself. Imagine how much another major series would be willing to pay him for his services and his legions of fans.

Rossi has tax problems. He is suddenly austere and disciplined in his career. He has claims of unpaid bills filed against him. He uses executive rhetoric in press conferences (expanding GP into new markets). He comments about racing cars for 10 years after he is done racing motorcycles.

The recent information about his lifestyle and his career ambitions seem to indicate that Rossi is not in the financial position to which he is accustomed. Perhaps he is even in a bit of a financial hole?

Rossi is a money hungry, tax evading, non-charity helping ........... as I've said numerous times before. Maybe instead of buying pearl necklaces and diamond earrings to his boyfriend Uccio, he could pay his taxes like everyone else... he ain't anyone special in my eyes. Really who the heck does Rossi think he is making soo much money and avoiding taxes while alot of hardworking people out there are scraping by making minumun wage and paying their taxes. Would be great to see him get some jail time, that'll straighten the guy out.

Go Jorge !!!

Are you trying to be funny? C'mon Pete, you losing your wits? SuperShitya is many things, funny is not one of them.

Clearly its just Rossi's former accountants, who he probably fired for being incompetent in the first place, are now trying to screw him again. Its an easy payday for them.

And no, I don't condone tax evasion, but anybody with half a brain can see what these guys are going after. And I doubt it was the accountants who thought about this, bean counters are not that smart, but rather the lawyers representing them saw an easy payday.

I would advise Rossi to contract some external (as in International) Accountants Firm (not like he cannot, or now has to spend in lawyers anyway) to Audit whatever his Italian Accountants Firm does. Hell, if he has to pay to blood sucking ........, might as well distribute it, let them fight to prove against each others whose the biggest .....!
