Interesting info about HRC's cylinder deactivation system

Very interesting....

I can see why they really dont want to go to the one size fits all ECU....but if they want to keep racing, at the moment at least, they will have to change over to it....

The State of Play in MotoGP Racing- News From the Paddock at Indy

Kevin Cameron writes about the state of MotoGP, and the Honda's alleged cylinder deactivation system.
Not exactly mind blowing technology if you think about it. The auto industry has been using cylinder deactivation for some time to save fuel and meet CAFE standards. Faster processors and some programming and viola, it transfers to a racing machine. Cameron is sensationalizing technology that is not that sensational, plus he is wrong when he states "but that is just a detail when you see the ease with which the Honda men approach with the back end light, kick it out to decisively begin turning, and set it down without drama.

Its not the Honda men who are pulling of the pivoting gyroscopic turns, its one man, and he is the one winning all the races. All riders can " back it in" to a corner, as of now, only one can begin corner entry while the rear is still in the air.
