It certainly didn't require an answer - because we all know, and he doesn't need to give one -because we all know.

On the other hand, at least Randy De Puniet won't be able to deploy a set ten minutes into the start of every session any more.

Tell me, what riders in particular do you think benefited from the 'Q's, and precisely which riders are "now going to shown for the one trick ponies they always were"?

I disagree. Q-tires where allways supersoft freak tires (born in the '90's I blive) just to cut that extra tenth. The qualification "race" will be just as exciting if not better as the conditions are allways better at the end of the session and riders will push each others. On the long tracks they started with q-tires halfway into the session and they only managed 3, max 4 fast-laps after that. That's why I expect it to be better: We will see a lot more fast laps.

Shinya was just a filler in moto gp he just took up space i really dont hate the guy because i dont know .... about him. To Say Hayden Is not an elite rider is just stupid. Theres a good chance he might not be The world champ at the end of 09 but he definetly wont be outside the top 5. Last year was his shitist year and he would have finished ahead of dovi if it wasnt for that supermoto injury at the x games. I sure Hope im wrong and Nicky is at the top by the end of the season, if he doesnt i know he will at least podium more than once unlike nakano who never did a damn thing in moto gp
and only has one fan who just happens to be on this forum

Point taken, but there was still huge anticipation towards the final 15 minutes of final qualifying. Supersoft freak tyres or not, you still had to learn how to handle them and put your faith in them which was another art in itself -another skill which has been stripped from the GP riders trade.

I believe it will take a super-human effort from Nickster to crack the top five... would be nice to see but I ain't holding my breath!

i agree. i liked seeing how much faster these guys could go on quali's. It was only the real brain out riders that could carve a sec or 2 off with them and it was fun to watch.

They were cool, but I rather they mean something, so if we are gonna have qual on special tires, let award a point for poll. MHO

I totally agree. Last year I bought the motogp package so for the first time I actually got to watch the qualification at each round. Watching the riders blitzing lap records was brilliant to watch. Most of last season qualification was more interesting than the races.
As for one trick ponies - I'm pretty sure you'll find the same riders getting pole this year - in fact I'd place a bet now that Stoner will be getting the BMW at the end of the year (if they still have it).

you already get a bmw...

btw, if you get a better grid pos, you normally get more points....

I agree the whole idea of qualifying is that good positions are their own reward, if it made no difference where you started the grid could be randomly generated. I don't think riders who were good on Q tyres were 1 trick ponies, but rather guys with a valuable skill that increased their opertunities come race day.

no Q tires will give arrange people with the better times on race tires the better grid position... which means a lot less passing action...

only thing is that the fast riders will get followed by less faster riders, so that the less faster rider maybe even will set a better time than the fast riders...

i think we will get loads of traffic behind rossi, stoner, pedrosa and lorenzo....
