Did anyone caught the interview with Mario Elliot the guy behind the project? He was saying something abt the Ilmor 800cc bike having a 18++rpm... I asked my dad if it was gd..my dad says yea..
Is dat good?

corrections the name is Mario Illien

And he says that they are hopping to attract sponsors and that the bike is more compact and since it tested much faster than Ducati 800cc..he's kinda hopeful and that their experince in Formula 1 is an advantage due to engine setting and all...

Any thoughts?

Have you got a link to the podcast rina? - or was it on pay-per view on motogp.com?

I think Illmor are going to be a force to be reckoned with next season - they are coming in at the best time for a new machine, when all the others are "new" bikes too. Granted, they havnt got the history of the other teams in motoGP...........but they sure do look to have a good package!

I just hope that they dont kick ... too much..........we dont want big 1st to 2nd gaps, thats not motoGP!

Yeah... they were saying sumtin abt since its a 'new' cat 800cc...its like everyone starting anew..so its an advantage to them.

I dwlded it free thru podcast as well as motogp.com... was wondering if it was legal for me to put the podcast interview here. Not only do they hv the interview with Marion Illien, it consist of an interview with Gary Mcoy, Loris Capirossi about his thoughts on the 800cc as well as Dani Pedrosa's and the run down on Montegi. Kinda cute on hw the host said that Dani had a lot and little to say abt the new bike.

ya Asimo opps I mean Pedrosa had very little to say besides "it goes......... thats important" lol But ya I dont know looks like Ilmor have been doing maybe more testing than the other guys since they are totally focused on next season whereas everyone esle is still racing

it will be interesting

Don't forget that while the race riders are racing this year's bike test riders in Japan and around the world have been testing these 800's for over a year now! The prototypes we get to see on the track are finalized products for the testers.
