You guys all know im a JLO fan but i like and admire the others too, and YOU CAN BET YOUR BOTTOM DOLLAR these arseholes will go and get an autograph of MM or Jorge after or before booing them given half the chance, its so sad and ruining the sport!! does my head in!!!!

Totally right,i'm getting sick of listening to all the yellow scum booing Lorenzo and Marquez,i think it reflects badly on Rossi to just smirk and not speak out and tell his tosser fans to give it a rest,i too like all the riders except Rossi, because now i can see through all the ........ and recognise the guy for what he truly is,a scheming scumbag with way too much power in the sport.

I think the fact Rossi won't comment on it speaks volumes for his character.

He is a talented rider for sure, but I got the impression he was a spoiled little brat after reading his book, everything since PI 2015 has only enforced my opinion.

If I were Lorenzo, I'd have run the #1 plate this year just to piss Rossi off a little more.

Oh ..... I forgot about that. WTF?! Why hadn't this been talked about? We discuss everything, how did this fall through the cracks?

Btw, I would have run the #1 in bright neon yellow!

I thought the #"JL" was creative. I wonder what caused him to change his mind. Was anything publicly ever said about it? Would be a good question to ask him. My cynical side feels like he probably didn't think Yamaha deserved to run the #1 plate. God knows. I've never liked the trend of not running the 1 plate because it breaks with my sensibility of tradition. Ironically, not taking the #1 plates smacks of more like look-at-me, I'm building my brand. Anybody ever read Lorenzo's rationale for not running the 1 since he had in the past?

Content Warning: Look ....... (.)(.)

I think it's more the corporate hq that decides to run the #1 plate , Stoner would have preferred #27 but Ducati wanted #1. Can't remember if Jorge only used it once and then reverted to #99. Nicky definitely wanted #1 as far as I know.

Jorge was #48 until 2008 and changed his number in 2009 following a split with his manager Dani Amitrain. He got his fan club to vote and settled on #99.
He did indeed wear the #1 plate once and upon winning his second title stuck with #99 as he is a superstitious person, seeing it as his lucky number.
Nowadays I don't think it's seen as important to wear the #1, as media is so much stronger than back in the day, where it was everything to have the #1 emblazoned on every magazine available as publicity for the manufacturer.
Let's face it, has Valentino ever worn the #1?

Used to have it on his right shoulder if I remember rightly.

I think you know I meant the number board on the bike buddy. All the riders wear a small number on their leathers or helmet as a token, but most keep their personal number. Maybe there's nothing legally stopping someone else taking it if they use #1, although you'd expect them to respect the champion and his brand.
Imagine the hullabaloo if Rossi won and wore the #1, whilst someone stole #46. LOL
It would be crazy!!!
