How will the World Champion Marc Marquez cope without Stoners crew next season?

With Marc bringing back his guys and giving Stoners the boot, will he run into troubles?

Damn 10 out of 10 for that spoiler.

If your watching on eurosport there was still 25 laps to go when you posted this.

I was hoping that Stoner's crew would go to Yamaha/Rossi. I don't think that they are jumping ship. Who would want to go to a team where you are to be blammed for the riders' fading skills.

Speaking on that ... What is the real story with Pete Benson? He wins a championship and then is sent to Moto2?

Obviously only time will tell, but they seemed ahead of the curve in Moto2  and the World Champion trusts them. If it doesnt work out, he will have only himself to blame. Gabarrini will be overseeing the Honda production teams which is good for all involved with that project. especially for Nicky who will most likely be the lead rider of the proddy Honda's

I suspect that they will do quite well. And that if there was any real chance of a SNAFU, that this move wouldn't have been allowed.

first, why would you change a winning team? but ok, if he and honda think it is a good idea, why not. if it should look like it wouldn't be during testing, HRC can still come up with some sort of a solution. btw, how many guys are we talking about and what were they doing (for whom) this year?

second, if you don't want to get spoilered, why do you spend your time on a motogp forum on the very afternoon the wc gets decided? .... title, still.

WHAT are you talking about???

Santi Hernandez was MM's crew chief last year in Moto2, and is his crew chief this year in Motogp

I know that MM Will bring  up some mechanics from his moto2 crew,

I know right, it's not even a story. A lot of the Moto2 crew is already there, and some of Stoner's crew has been promoted or moved around at HRC. It's just a few guys that Marquez wants promoted to his team that got left behind this year due to existing contractual obligations.

From what I have seen in the decade that I have watched the sport, only Rossi appears to want a certain crew, a certain tyre, a certain environment, while most others simply ride, such as Casey for example. Rossi orchestrates success, whilst the others have their talent. I love Rossi's race craft which I still think is second to none, and personally like his work ethic from what I have read in his bio and other news sources. However, one must admit, that no other rider is so picky.

EDIT: I'd also like to add, that had Rossi not been so picky, he'd just may have been as successful or perhaps even more. Perhaps he simply wanted to have the best to begin with and give him the psychological edge.

think the guys (dont know how many) have been with Alex Marquez this year in Moto3, kind of a stop gap for a year after there was no need for that Moto2 team anymore.

He sacked an old bloke, for another old bloke.

The new old bloke must be a computer whizz - after all, he's been in WSBK for ages and we know how techno they are.

That was his <strike>excuse</strike> reasoning, wasn't it? That JB couldn't cope with 4T/EFI/FBW tech?

I don't think it's that most riders don't want their own guys, it's that most riders don't have the pull and clout that Valentino does/did—although that's changing. If I remember correctly, Casey brought his guys to Honda with him when he left Ducati and Marquez has done the same.

My belief is that this is not an option afforded to most riders on the grid.

Now that he his rookie year out of the way, I don't think switching personnel in his crew will have much effect (if any) going forward. I would assume the personnel from his old team are just as (technically) competent as the ones he got when he moved up to MotoGP. Unless they self-sabotage themselves a la the DQ at PI debacle (excercise better judgement), there shouldn't be much different in terms of competitiveness.

I agree, it will make no difference to him, he is the reason he goes quick.
