Was thinking, these guys changed to a new brand as as was the case with Stoner they had their man up to speed and winning his first race on that brand!!

They would have to be the new JB and crew.

How many actually changed over with him to Honda?

Which ones?

Everyone except his electronics guy, and Stoner's slowly breaking him in ("yes, you can turn the TC down a bit more now").

I was going to ask if he was necessary anyway

That electronics guy used to be Lorenzo's electronics guy. Is that right Krop?

Is he one of the guys that went from Yamaha to Honda a couple of years ago?

Would he have been with Lorenzo during Lorenzos Rookie year in GP?

if so ..... I can see why Stoner would want him ....... he seemed to have a natural propensity to keep the TC intervention pretty minimal judging on Lorenzo's first year

Seriously Barry....and this is a compliment to Stoner, not a slag....his crew could be bunch of PowerSlider members and he would ride that Honda to hell and back and put it on the box everytime.

Stoner seems to put a a lot of effort into commenting on their setup in interviews so I'm thinking the crew can't really be written off in the equation like that

Ok...then we will go with Honda's mindset...It's the bike, riders are interchangable.

I think Stoner knows what he wants and since there are so many options in Honda it's easy-ish to find the solution quickly.

For example we have last race, he was struggling with grip while bending at max angle at the end of FP2, by pole time he had completely fixed that issue. ( I know the other guys also improved, but they were still behind).

The crew just applies what Stoner says and Honda gives.

Why so many double posts?

Personally i think stoners crew doesnt have as big an influence as it does with other riders, yes they are amazing, hats off too them,

But stoner has the raw ability to control a bike despite what it does underneath him, this is something that is pushed in dirt track / flat track where every lap the track changes and 1 line cant be used for an entire race (if you try this you will either find your self on the ground, or develop an ability to react as fast as the bike.

I think this is something that a lot of the european guys lack, they race road bikes from a very young age, which is a great advantage but they get very cought up in having the perfect set up..... so both wheels stay perfectly in line this is something i dont think stoner demands you can see this in the way he slides the bike every chance he gets)

.......I think i am rambling....... too many beers during origin (the aussies will understand) But the point i think im making is...

Yes stoners team is really really good, but even if they where the best there was i think stoners ability to ride what he is given (ah la 800cc duc) would negate the SLIGHT differences in his teams skills to that of say JB's.

As IMO JB is the best engineer the GP circuit has ever seen.

My friend who is CEII leccy guy at Yamaha nearly got the job as Stoners guy, I was soooooooo gutted when he told me they had already gotten someone before Stoner mentioned him!!!!

If Stoner wins the title this year, his first on the Repsol team, maybe it will change Honda's mind about that since Pedobot has been there how long and not won it?

The team that Stoner brought over with him to Honda was the best Ducati crew, and their absence is felt at Ducati. Ducati did acquire JB and crew, but they need time to really understand the new bike. There has not been any person-to-person transmission of knowledge from the old team to the new one, and that makes the whole process slower. So I would say what's most important regarding Stoner's team is their absence from Ducati, rather than their presence at Honda.

Nope, spanish money spanish rider. Thats the rule at el respol. They will give Dani the boot when Marquez is ready. But the bot will never out preform cs even on equip made for him.

And Dave, kick yourself in the nuts for that comment above. better yet go back and edit it out. that was wrong.

I am kicking and i did edit, I apologize to all here. it was wrong.

I got carried away after watching a spanish interview to him, he's so full of .... with all this Rossi thing it's not funny. I still apologize. Can't get it out of barry's response though.
