Also consider the news that Yamaha is using ex-Ferrari engine specialist Luca Marmorin to improve their engine (with good results according to Quartararo). Does this mean that European engineers are now better than the Japanese? Not really, though I think they are as good. I see these things as a sign that the Japanese are investing less in racing nowadays, which is typical of them in times of crisis. Suzuki are withdrawing altogether. Hiring European help on a spot basis is probably less expensive for them than investing in new internal resources or diverting their existing internal resources from other projects.

Or it may just be that Honda and Yamaha have hit the wall and need new eyes to inspire to re-draw a stale paradigm.
Note: the eyes part is not a veiled reference to the presence or lack of, an epicantic fold.

Or may it be Honda is trying to reduce their spending. First Petronas, then Suzuki, Yamaha reducing their presence, Honda seemingly not too active (HRC team in Europe talking about lost contact). Is there a pattern? Are Asian losing faith in the future of MotoGP? Maybe it has something to do with dim economic outlook? Economists outside of Europe have different predictions from their European colleagues for next 3-5 years to come. Just thinking out loud, don't pay attention ...
