Its very simple:

Repsol Honda with rider + Nicky Hayden = 2006 Champions

Rossi may have been the better rider but as a team, Hayden and Honda were better

rossi fans are so cut.

hayden did what he did in the championship to win it.

. he knew he had 50 points lead, he managed his lead till the end of the season.

the only reason it got so close was coz of his dumb ... "teammate"

Rossi may have been the better rider ...... 2006

Bit of a odd thing to say
<
??

why didn't Rossi win then, I'm pretty sure I read that Hayden was the 2006 champion.

Yeah I was right ...... these results are verywhere!

Hayden 252
Rossi 247
Capirossi 229
Melandri 228

Where did you get your results?
<

Besides that would be like saying in 07, Rossi got second
<
<

Stoner 367
Pedrosa 242
Rossi 241
Hopkins 189

Crazy!!!

Let me see, you reply to someone who discuss the better rider, you translate that to points, nothing else, right?

Let's see how good Mick Doohan was when we use your "logic".
He went from champion one year and 17th in his final year with 33 points. He sure ended at the bottom of his career didn't he? I don't see why we bother remembering such a lousy rider at all. I mean, that he only completed 2 races has nothing to with it, he got only 33 points that's the only measure of a champion or a failure, right?

Haha, I see you remember when a topic like this would get me munching on the donuts to no end. Well, I've learned a thing or two, and that is, never argue with a "plank of wood".

Seriously, the 07 season is way over and we still got a guy holding hope we can re-race Valencia 06 again. Is it really even necessary to respond? This is why I think Johnny's thread was so classic.

It never ceases to amaze me. It's so long ago, 2006, 2007 has already come and gone. Haven't you all got better things to debate? Like why they let Stoner ride an 800 with a rocket on the back? If that's not cheating then I don't know what is.

Come on now, judging anyone by 2007 is laughable. Those who are, after 2002 I assume you all predicted Alex Barros would be World Champ in 2003 and Loris Capirossi was on his way out. Please. Michelin will be stronger than ever in 2008, they have to be or they'll have no one to supply.

Nicky will be back towards the front in '08, as will Rossi and Pedrosa and Stoner and Melandri and the list goes on.

That'll hold me over for a while. See you all in Qatar.

Well i got respect for Nicky hes no traction control boy and last years Honda and Yamaha were very close performance levels and he beat Rossi to the title... luck or no luck he stopped the masters reign.
