Making a start on the race weekend thread.

- Will Pecco be fit to ride? If so, surely he will be somewhat off the pace
- LCR Honda have finally landed on Takumi Takahashi to fill Alex Rins seat for this weekend after a comical attempt to get a rider that included Iker Lecuona (Clash with WSBK), Bradl (Already wildcarding at Misano), Andrea Dovizioso (rejected), Andrea Iannone!! (Banned), JORGE LORENZO and Tetsuta Nagashima (trying out parts at the Misano test so Honda didn't want to risk him)
MotoGP: Takumi Takahashi to replace injured Rins at Misano
- KTM have denied the stories circulating that Jack Miller has been offered a double salary to take 10 wildcards for next season and free up a seat for Acosta.
KTM reject stunning claim that Jack Miller was offered big-money test rider role

How on earth did HRC/LCR think anyone of these guys would come out of retirement to race THIS bike?! What world do these guys live in?

Pecco declared fit for this weekend, great news, a lucky man indeed.

Shows you how desperate they are sadly.

I'm not his biggest fan, but that has made my day. That accident could have been so much worse.

No replacement for Bastainini, Pirro is doing a wildcard classified as Aruba.it and has posted the fasted FP1 time, probably no body else has done more laps of the circuit than Pirro

Takahaski outside the 107% in FP1. Its a learning curve especially on the Honda

Bezzechi rained on Mav's parade in P2. Mav set the first ever 1:30 lap, but Marco pipped him after the checker, and despite local yellows for a couple of downed riders, IIRC. Marc towed Pedrosa to get into Q2. My how the tables have turned. Dani is looking awesome in third. He has the pace for a podium it seems, but I can't imagine he will commit during qualifying at the start of the race. No reason to risk everything on a wildcard. Jerez part 2 is good enough. He's already carrying his banner and KTM's banner quite high.

I'm not one to complain about commentary, it's not that important, but the Marco "Benzecchi" affair is reaching scandalous proportions. If someone offered you a slice of "pinza" that person would not be hired to commentate on a sport chockful of Italians, and yet "Benzecchi" continues to be a common utterance during race weekends. Maybe if he stays in MotoGP for another 10 seasons they will get it right consistently.

On a positive note, MotoGP's content between sessions and after the flag is improving. Linger times are surely improving with these repetitive vignettes and personality pieces.

Aleix into Q1 after a crash.

Worth noting Marc was close to a second faster than the next placed Honda......

Not getting my hopes two far up yet but Bradl qualified 15th on the wildcard. Maybe just maybe they finally found something.

Looks like Takahashi has withdrawn. Didn't post a qualification attempt after a highsider in practice earlier today.

Martin was on fire in the sprint. I would have liked tiny Dani to get a podium but it's encouraging for the carbon chassis KTM.
Marc outperforming the Honda as usual.

I laughed at Aprilia. A week after the smack talk of "we don't need Marquez or Fabio" they finish....6th and 8th.

Dani had podium speed but you can tell he's in test rider mode and not going to do something stupid.
If he gets a good start tomorrow a podium won't be impossible.
Pecco holding on to 3rd just six days after that crash is nothing short of sensational but tomorrow's race is gonna feel extremely long to him.

Nothing to add to what has been said. Ok I'll add something more: Jack Miller is a mediocre rider who has been fetishized for years for being an Anglo. If there's somebody who deserves to go to make place for Acosta, it's him.

Rare instance of R. Fernandez finishing ahead of his teammate. Marc in 10th while the other Hondas occupy the last three places. Yes, I think Marc is as good as gone regardless of the post-race test.

Yeah, he rode like a veteran pro. Podium would be awesome, but he's already a legend and doesn't need to insert himself into the championship by roughing up Bagnaia. Plus, he's never bounced well, and he's no spring chicken.

Overall sprint race was mildly entertaining. Pedrosa provided the story line, and Martin and Bezzecchi applied a bit of pressure to Bagnaia by finishing ahead of him in the sprint. Pecco deservers some credit as well, notching a podium 1 race after getting hit by Binder at high speed. Bezzecchi isn't 100% either.

Tomorrow could be interesting if Dani gets a good start. He doesn't have the braking to get by other riders, but he's got the mid corner speed as always. We'll see if Mav can recover too. 5th is disappointing after his practice pace, but maybe he'll do better in the GP.

Don't get me started. LOL! Some years back I made some light-hearted comments about how Brits consistently garble and mispronounce foreign words and it turned into a lengthy, and sometimes heated, thread.

Impressed to see Bagnaia and Bezzecchi on the podium with their injuries. We shall see today if they have the fitness for the full race, hopefully they will.

Test rider 4th, that's impressive riding - go Pedrosa

Who are you listening to? Maybe my hearing is off but I've not noticed this.
