Where are the photos???? With out photos it didn't happen. Surely you know this rule!

I live in the stone(d) age ... I don't even have a camera in my phone!

If anyone on here knows Canunga ... they will know that if it was going to happen (which it did), Canungra would be a logical spot!

I did a quick turnaround in my car and had a look at them ... it was actually the first time I had seen one (make that two) in the flesh .... fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck .... they are a sensational looking bike! I had a chat to the two blokes riding them ... boys with lots of money who love their toys!

Apparently only 50 odd have made their way onto Australian shores. To see two parked side by side near where I live just floored me! Happy days!

Krusty, I have seen some of the best bikes in the world parked out front of the Canungra Pub. Have spent a bit of time sitting out the front of the public bar.
I know a guy that owns a Desmo, and I am sure he would have been one of the two you saw.
He is a bike nut and has a couple of other expensive bikes (MV Augusta).

Know the Canungra Pub??? You betcha - I'm just over the big hill (and the border) at Murwillumbah. The run through Numinbah Valley is great, I reckon you see up tp 300 bikes through there on a good Sunday.

And you get to stop at the Canungra Pub on your side of the border and the Tyalgum pub on this side...aaaahhhhhh!

Back to the theory, I think the Aprilia has people thinking, it is their first year in and Max is producing a lot better results than the BMW for example, and it will be a race winner before you know it.

Also the reason that Ducati can do it now and not offender the prortype rule (apart from the capacity) is the CF frame in the GP bike. The old Desmosedici and the new GP9 are worlds apart.

It is kind unfair to expect BMW to be doing as well as Aprilia. This is completely new for BMW, and to be honest, I expected much worse (even with Troy and Rubin). Look at Aprilia's racing past.....I mean BMW finally made a real race bike to play with the big boys.

Back to the topic I think we will see ducati using the four cylinder for its SuperBikes. It might be the push Ducati gets once the Aprilia dives further into development. Unless the engine is replaced by an electric motor, Ducati will give up on the twin. Ducati knew what it was doing when they decided to make a v4 street bike. They are trying to cover all their bases(and really scare the .... out of everyone).

It would have been him. He mentioned that he had a number of bikes. Small world hey!

Before I moved to Canungra I seriously nearly bought a property at Uki. We could have been near neighbours.

A good mate of mine works in M'bah (lives at Pottsville). He had an RC30 but sold it not so long back!

Small world alright.
The guy that has the Desmo - his father has one of the best private collections of bikes in Aust. I think he even has a couple of old (1950's / 60's) GP bikes.
I've got a photo of the Desmo on my phone, but no idea how to get it off.
I know one of his mates also bought one, so not surprised you saw two together. Not many places you will see two Desmo's in a small country town.

I know very well the guys that used to own the Nungas pub. One of them still lives in Wonglepong, and I have spent a lot of time out at his farm, so I know your neighborhood well.

I sincerly doubt the twin is over for racing. If they really wanted to bring it in, they'dve done in for the 2007 season.
