Hi,

I'm a fairly new rider. I've owned a couple of bikes but never started to learn how to ride until recently, when I made some great friends who are ex/current trials and offroad riders.

I was born using computers which gives away my age, but I gave them up a few years ago to enjoy the finer things in life like ... and booze
<

Now I'm married (!) and a kid on the way, so needing to find an alternative vice, so I'm back on the net filling up forums.

I ride a Suzuki Djebel 250XC which I think is only available here in Japan. My mechanic buddy is teaching me bit by bit how to wrench it myself which is thoroughly enjoyable.

Hope to meet you all in the forums.

Cheers,

Leon

Double thank you's~

I'm not sure if I can call myself a fellow trialist yet, but I'm eager to learn. You may like some photos of my friends at :

Burky:

What do you think about trialists being snobby? I want to get into it, but have been warned that on forums, saying I'm into trials might make people think I'm up-nosed. I'm just getting back into forums now, so wanted to know if you think it's ok for me to post trials photos, etc. or would it be best to keep them for trials only forums??

Thanks Roger,

I'm getting mouse-button-happy with the forums this morning, and yep, I remember your kung fu avatar from the other thread.

Your style seems really interesting. I got caught up in the purple-ninja movies when I was little so wound up taking the Japan route, but I'd like to give kung-fu a try as many friends swwear by it.

I used to do karate when I was little and then got into the jiu-jitsu, but haven't really rolled around for a while. I have a friend with some interesting and effective combat-karate which seems like something I want to be aware of, especially as a new father (almost) with more to protect and less time to get conditioned.

Thanks for the overwhelming welcome emails everyone!

Roger-m: I hear ya. I actually live 30 seconds walk from the Kyoto Budokan, but haven't yet been inside! I used to train religiously, but I was single then

You have put a bit of fire under me, so I'll keep you posted if I get back into it!

Richo: 出来ますが、関西弁分からへんでしょうか?

Dazza and Capirex: Cheers!

Wow, lots of Japanified Aussies around!

Rising-sun: Are you riding in Tokyo? I used to drive a van around there for a living and so was pretty awestruck when I saw this clip:

Tokyo Rush Hour on a Bike!

Richo: Cool bananas. Were you old enough when you were there to get into Club Lys Chante? Just to namedrop, I served Craig David when I was working there, but didn't have any idea who he was until the girls told me...

Let me spill it out here:

I just got home about 3 weeks ago. I was on a scholarship with a very well-to-do type school, so a lot of things were "Against the rules", (which means we broke a lot of rules). I was 18, but as you probably know that dosen't mean a lot in Japan.

Welcome aboard.........nice to see you getting stuck in

BTW - if you see Craig david again.................just say:

"Craaaazzzzy Pavvvvin'"

He'll know what you mean (ifs from a piss take show called bo selecta - if you get it?)
