Hi Everyone,

I have been into GP racing since i was 14 years old back in 1994 in the days when Doohan was dominating the sport, giving away my vintage a bit. I had no idea there was an actual MotoGP forum and am spewing that I didn't find about this years ago. I live in Brisbane Australia and work as an electrician in the resources sector.

I happily admit I am obsessed with the MotoGp series, and finally have somewhere to communicate with like minded people. Yes, I am a Rossi fan but please don't hold that against me.

I have been riding since i was 15 starting out in motocross, I enjoy sports bikes now doing both mountain rides and track days at local race tracks. I current ride is a GSXR 750 which I love working on and tinkering with about as much as i love riding it.

Im always keen to catch up with anyone living local interested in the occasional ride and track day, so if your up for a ride and need some company don't hesitate to drop me a message.

Cheers

Welcome to the MotoGP Forum family!

Have you had a chance to see a race at Phillip Island?

Phillip Island

Hi Duc,

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Yes I have experienced Phillip Island twice in 2009 and 2010, Stoner won both times on the white bike in 2009 which looked pretty awesome. Smoking Stoner!

Had a blast there, we had a corporate tent at turn 4, Ant Wests team and family there. Kevin Magee was drinking with us the whole weekend, commentating the race ... more of an R rated version of commentary lol.

Had a dinner with Stoners parents after the 2010 race at the Seahorse Motel where we where staying, They where heading out and our group had loads of food left to cook up. I was with a group of friends and ended up sharing the motel room with my brother and Scotty Doohan at the Seahorse actually. Really nice bloke and loved a drink like me. I remember it being so wet we all 3 of us got up early to be at the hardware store by 6am to try and buy some gumboots .. us and half the town turned out.

Really fond memories of the island, When QBE sponsored the event they would prebook Tent 14 at turn 4 every year and sell the tickets to friends so it was always the same crew which made it fun.

Would really love to do a MotoGP event overseas now. Being a Rossi fan I'd love to do Misano. Looks a really fun place with a good party atmosphere.

Where about do you reside Duc? Northwest ..

What sort of Ducati do you ride?
