Methinks they need a new rider.
Could it be Lorenzo? How much credit gets Lorenzo for turning Ducati into "the best bike on the grid"? It happened when he was in the team. Now he is not and Ducati is losing ground. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.
Will Ducati try and lure Marc for 2021-22? I personally would welcome this change. Could be fun to watch.
One thing seems to be sure - they gotta do something, right now they are a bunch of losers (by their own standards).

Jslo is already rumored to be calling Ducati begging for a ride ... At a very reduced rate of pay ...

Regarding MM going to Ducati..as Rossi put it about JsLo going to Ducati 'it takes balls to go'....MM King of the Honda may not have what it takes to face such a challenge

Lol...yeah right ...Marquez just isn't brave enough....ever seen him ride?

Not only will Marquez move to Ducati but unlike Rossi, Marc will actually win on it.

Lorenzo gets loads of abuse but strange thing is when he leaves a manufacturer they start to struggle. Yamaha all at sea and now Ducati.

Pull your head from out your ... PigsAngel. How many other Honda riders are winning on the same bike? You and may others are already bitching how boring it is for Marc to be wining all the time. What would you all do if he goes to an easier bike to ride & win more than he does already? Do you not realized this is the reason your god rossi says he should stay at Honda?

They need Lorenzo for the short term and a completely new engine for the long term.

Even with the benefit of hindsight, it’s hard to tell what the right move is for the future.
Can’t see Lorenzo back at Ducati......... unless there was a change in upper management.

Take a risk and go all in on Quatararo and and Miller. Dovi is in his mid 30s and not going to bring them a championship, neither is Petrucci. If they want to have a chance of winning they need to take risks, they lucked out with Stoner who was never their first choice.

I have no faith in Miller. He may be from down under, but he is not in the same class with Stoner or even Bayliss.

I don’t think he is Stoners class either but I would consider him among the best of the rest. He’s ridden a Ducati for a few years now so knows the bike and is younger than Petrucci and Dovi. Fabio would be a complete newbie to the bike so Miller could give some point of reference about the new bike being better or worse in different aspects.

Miller seems inconsistent and can't seem to manage his tyres well. I don't see him as a potential champion with his current approach.

As to Fabio, it's too early to tell. We don't know how he would do on a Ducati.

Jorge and Fabio could make a great team, similar riding styles. Fabio could learn from Jorge how to make soft tyres go race distance and how to ride the Ducati in general.
It’s too early to know if Fabio can handle another make of bike as the Yamaha is renowned for being the best to start on, but so far he’s certainly looking like the real deal.

OR. Maybe on these 2 tracks (Assen and Sachsenring) which are very "turny" and have rather small straights (bikes don't reach 300km/h on either) they struggle a bit more as the engine power counts much less, and the turning of the bike counts much more?

Think about a bike that has its main issues in acceleration and his main plus in its ability to turn, they would be competitive on these kind of tracks wouldn't they.

OH WAIT....(coughing) YAMAHA .............

With the exception of Mugello, the "Ducati tracks" are yet to be raced on this year.

But of course if they'd struggle there as well we'll need to re-have this conversation.
