First SBK test this weekend

He once took one of his own bikes out around Oulton I think after practise, and binned it. Look at all the ..... that B Boz endured when he rode the blade for that team.
From what I recall reading in 2005, the CBRs Ben had were off the showroom floor. They had no real kit to go off, just spending money here and there on aftermarket bits. I want to say at one of the tests Ben totaled a bike so they went to the local dealership and bought a new CBR and kitted it with what little salvageable remains they could peel off the race bike. They had no idea what to do with a Honda. Part of the problem was Ben's insistence to ride a Honda because of how fast his HRC American Honda CBR1000RR was. Little did he know that the CBR1000RR was so much slower without the HRC components and input.

Twice as many bikes as Motogp. Twice the fun to watch IMO.

Same as that, was gonna knock my cable coverage on the head but the way things are looking ,I`ve really got to see the whole season through without a doubt.

I would like to see Haga win the title for all the times he has come close but I've enjoyed watching Spies in the AMA for the last 3-4 years and I like how he's doing on a new team, new bike and new circuit so would also like to see him and the R1 do it in his rookie season. Whatever happens I think SBK is going to be great this year with so many riders, new bikes, team changes, new riders etc. I can't wait!

Yamaha look good, with a brand new bike and two new riders they are at the right end of the time sheets with both. Looks good for them so far, but i can't wait to see some results from another track to see how well the speed travels. Same goes for Shakey too. Ten Kate Honda look a bit unconvincing so far, JR is new so he gets the benefit of the doubt for now, Kiyo and Checa both need to get a move on.

Nobody seems to have mentioned yet that Lascorz and Crutchlow have looked excellent in supersport testing, but i struggle to believe that the championship will go to a Kawasaki or a Yamaha, Honda have got to be favorites. Which brings me to West, who has moved from the highest to the lowest level of international road racing and seems to have maintained the pace for the high teen positions. Remarkable.

Im not sure if its the nature of that track, but Yamaha has found some speed. In earlier test they were relatively slow up top and now they have the fastest trap speed at the test. That was a concern for this new engine, great torque and ridability but lacking on the top.Even in AMA trim,Bostroms R1 was 12 mph down to the Honda and those bikes are just a hair over stock.

Good post.

Cal's always good in testing, and he's one of those riders that's immediately quick from the off. If he can maintain some consistency I expect him to do well this year.

After what JR did last season we have reason to be optimistic, although the circumstances are a little different being that hes on a Yamaha. If the Honda is still the bike of choice Cal will be fighting a harder season than Rea was, but if Yamaha brings top kit then Cal will be looking at less rivals with equivalent equipment and could be in a stronger position.
